Why are gun owners afraid to admit they own guns?

Anyone else think people should be tested psychiatrically before being allowed to own a gun?

On that basis, if a doctor is seeing a patient and he notices that he has a mental issue or whatnot, would it not be prudent for him to ask if he or she owns a gun?

yeah right. homosexuality was considered a mental disease and should homosexuals not be allowed to own a gun.

psychology and psychiatry isn't a real science, they change their stuff every few years.

so yeah the definition of sane and insane changed every few years

All fields change every few years as knowledge and technology increases. Does that mean you don't believe anything is real?

They knew what you meant and just chose to be dicks about it

I was a dick? I've found that people don't actually understand **** about guns. Do you know how often I've heard that phrase? It's quite common, and I don't know what some people mean when they say it. But hey, I'm a dick for giving a correcting thought.

JTT I'm shocked that you don't know what people mean when they say it.
You can't be that dumb. (I don't believe you are btw. I'm 100% certain you knew what she meant when she said what she said)

I don't think there is anyone in the entire world who believes that a gun sitting on the ground in an empty garage can just magically start shooting bullets.

Surely "guns can go off accidentally" can be reasonably understood to mean "guns can be fired on accident"?

I am serious. People say guns go off accidentally all the time. "Oh the safety was on when I pulled the trigger! Went off accidentally!" That's not an accident. That's being a dumbass. I'm pretty big on gun safety, so things like that matter to me. And I've seen a lot of ignorance when it comes to guns, including in this thread, so naw, I'm not going to assume somebody means something when I don't know if they do.

Hell, I don't know. My Ford Pinto started itself all on its own one time. Did not put itself in to gear or anything but it still freaked me out. Thought the think may be plotting to kill somebody so I sold it to my ex mother in law

Nobody that uses a gun in the commission of a crime is gonna use one they bought and registered. There's a black market for that. There's a black market for damn near everything, so long as there's a demand. And frankly, moves to disarm(through regulation) will likely increase that demand.

You know how to illegally obtain firearms? PM please, an I require pre-1984. All these new guns are fired first an the bullets barrel markings get recorded. They do not need to find the gun to trace you only the ballistics. Throwing it in no lake ain't gonna save you.
