So, what brought you here?

I think I was a more content fan before I came here. On the old board my first started thread was "is jazzfanz a good place to learn about basketball?" I started it after being flamed every time I tried to contribute to a jazz related thread. I even called NUMBERICA an ***. I got a warning for it too, even though he was being an *** to me.

The reason I made an account is because in a pathetic attempt to hold onto my father's memory I purchased season tickets. So I figured I needed to be more connected to what was going on with the team. I had also sold the season tickets idea to my wife saying I'd make money on the deal selling tickets to some of the games (haha, haha, ha groan). So I sort of saw this as a place I might be able to unload some tickets now and then. I did unload some tickets but usually giving them away. UB scored Ron Boone's signature with my tickets. I really loved my seats. Back row of the lower bowl right across the aisle from Hot Rod, next to the door and less than 20' from the beer cart and bathroom.

I still don't know much about basketball (answers that question) but I've grown to love this place.

Full disclosure I'm posting on my phone from bouttime pub.

When Jazz drafted Gordon Hayward I was like WTF???!!!!

Then I came on here to read up and join the convo.

I did come around to it in the end.
 
The board I was on before closed to most people. Jazzhoops.
I like most of the poster's here with a few exceptions.
It gives me a place to vent frustrations about the team and to talk about some of the things I like about them.
My friends are either not Jazz fans or I don't see them often enough to talk about the team when something is going on.

I was very much into Jazz basketball when I joined, but my enthusiasm has faded significantly. I still like watching, and actually get to 3 or 4 games a season, but I'm so underwhelmed by the FO that I don't really enjoy talking about the team anymore. If it weren't for GD, my participation would be little if any.
 
Trout used to live across the street from me. He would talk about it a little (okay, a LOT). Then they had a night out to a game GVC even came down and camped out at his house. I went and played ball with them and met a few more peeps from here and so I joined up.

So trout brought you here? Guess he's not all bad.
 
You can blame AKMVP for me coming here after losing my other internet chatting home, but it all evens out since I brought babe along with me. I tried to bring another guy as well but he was too busy making money.

I was looking for a place to talk Jazz basketball (I used to post on the usenet group alt.sport.basketball.nba.jazz, or it was similar to that name, but with the proliferation of the web usenet groups started to die out). Ran across RealGM and it was the first place to have a fairly active user base. At the time this site was part of RealGM, then Jason took the site on his own and I followed it (though I still post on RealGM as well). And I parlayed this into a moderator job 6 or whatever years later.

There have been good times on this board. I've flown out to 3 (or is it 4...I want to say 4 actually) Jazz games with other people here, including both Stockton and Malone's retirement jersey ceremonies. Got to sit on the court for Malones.
 
Is this the largest internet community of Jazz fans? The only other ones I know of are Jazz Hacks and the comment boards on various blogs, such as SLC Dunk, etc.

I got a gubbmint job. Then Spazz, lowgrade, Archie-ska, beerbrewpokerguy, joker, davidstern, vynilhandicap, scat, trout, Yb, UB, bronco, catchafishyo,onebraincell, larriesbellboes, & the genius that is admincolterator hooked me.
 
Did I mention late yet impotent bloomers like gojazz69, fast asseater DALAMON, , millsapa's, babe... I'm forgetting many n00b keepers so Crack a Beer! for teh Lola heAR.

Ya, that ****ers no *** and box. Especially box and babe. And Nate too, even tho he put a hit out on homie honz for modcrew positioning.

Did I forget little Werner? Tha Werner is bozz. Bozz of numb and vgc's ******.

All if that, yeah.
