The Samsung Note commercial is beyond terrible.

The fact that they go out of their way to "humanize" him, and it comes off so awkward and forced, dehumanizes him.

Yeah, I sort of felt that way at first and then the more I saw it, looked up his personal life (married to his HS sweetheart with two kids) and saw pics of his house in Biscayne Bay, Florida which wasn't gaudy at all, and my respect went up for him.
