Why the hell we didn't make a run at David Blatt?

I watched some Euro ball when AK was playing and Blatt was the coach of the Russian team. Based on that I can tell you the guy can coach. His teams move the ball very well and he knows how to substitute. He seems to get the most out of his players and I think Blatt used AK a lot better than Jerry.

His teams play with intensity and he is a great motivator. Players like Favors, Kanter and Hayward need a coach that motivate them.

Don't really want players who rely on their coach for motivation. Lebron isn't great because Spoelstra motivates him. And why don't we give Snyder a chance before crying about Blatt.

Not even as an assistant? Really, the best chance to get a NBA HC job these days seems to be if you are a part of the NBA inner circle. I think he should have offers as a HC now as it is, but he would be much better served just being over here as an assistant getting into that inner circle if being a NBA head coach is his goal. I bet he would've a lot of interest in a couple years at most if he did that, maybe even next year. Maybe he still will. You hear his name a lot these days. Much more than before, so he seems to be on the brink as it is.

i don't know

he just said that beside the fact that there are a lot of rumors around his name, he did not received any offers and he thinks that he will never receive

anyway, i don't care about messina, there is nothing special in him, the point was that dl didn't tried to acquire a eurocoach

he also said that he decided to leave cska already in february only because it was a lot of pressure in the organization to win the euroleague and he didn't like it >> just like i said, this dude is soft and he wouldn't be able to succeed in the nba, because the level of pressure here is higher

Messina has a lot of experience but it is true that he is soft....he couldn't handle the pressure with Real Madrid either!

Popovich is a motivator too...

I'm ok to give Snyder a chance...but the problem is that give a chance coaching the Jazz it means
3 seasons regardless the results!

Corbin has been a wrong gamble...now the Jazz needed to play safe with the coach!

I'm really disappointed that Messina or Blatt didn't happen. I will follow Cavs for Blatt and I'll give at least three years to Snyder for a decent Jazz basketball. After Corbin, anyone deserves at least that much of time.

The funny thing is, The Coach is still available and if I'm right the only vacant NBA head coaching job right now belongs to the Lakers. The Messina rumors with LA seem to be faded away but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he ends up with the Lakers. Obviously that would make me double-pissed.

It appears that the Lakers are going with Byron Scott. Give me Quinn any day over that.

Honestly, none of the remaining candidates are better than Quin Snyder. So yeah, agreed.

Kurt Rambis
Mark Jackson
Mike Dunleavy
George Karl
Byron Scott

You guys are Messina haters or what?

I mean, you do nothing but bash him whenever the talk is about him or Blatt or Euro coaches. It's pretty irritating. The guy is a top five coach in the whole world to the most, even top three to some people after Obra and Pop. If you don't like the guy then fine, but why the bashing at every chance?
