What's new

Wicked.......

I heard there is a lottery held before every performance. You show up like 2 1/2 - 3 hours before the performance to get in the lottery. If your name is picked, you can buy $25.00 orchestra seats.

*Edit* It's true. Here's a link: https://wickedtour.net/salt-lake-city-to-hold-wicked-ticket-lottery

Nice. I was just wondering about that actually, just because I knew they do something like that with the big NYC shows.

I don't know if that's the best idea given the situation though, "Oh, I forgot to tell you that I was only taking you to Wicked IF we can win the ticket lottery that's held a few hours before the show. If we lose.....we're going to the Hogle Zoo instead. And you're going to like it!" That actually does sound more like something I would do to weasel my way out of going normally, had I not doomed myself from the first word I spoke. But that's really good to know for future use.

^^^^^ You're the guy I need then. Do you think I could end up getting a bad seat in the place? Paying for torture is insane anyway, I know, but paying for torture with a crappy view is even worse because I'm pretty sure the whole experience will devolve into me checking for hotties in the show, just like it seems to have done for you.

I don't think there is a bad seat in the house except for the balcony ones that are WAY in the corner up by the stage. I haven't sat there, but I'd imagine seeing the stage from the side and watching what's going on backstage might be weird.

Yeah, my obsession with sitting in balconies got the best of me earlier today so I already popped on a couple first row front and center grand tiers for the last show of the season on Aug 26. I don't know if the show is going to suck, but I do like sitting in balconies so I'm looking forward to that.

I'm not sure this is bump worthy, but I guess about as unworthy as making the topic in this first place, but I just wanted to let you know what an even bigger idiot I am from info I've learned in the time since then.

Turns out, this girl lives near Nephi on a farm(Hi Hantlers) I guess, which is 50 miles or so South of Provo. Provo is the "big city" to her family so she was up here shopping and eating with her family the day I moved in for the kill.

Point being, on Sunday I get to drive 50 miles South to pick her up, 100 miles North to Salt Lake, 100 miles South back to Nephi to drop her off, then 50 miles North back to home in Provo.

This is going to be the longest night of my life. And when I get bored, overly sarcastic Duck Rodgers comes to the rescue. This could get ugly.

Oh, stop whining and just enjoy living. If you're being honest, you're looking forward to this little road trip, don't ruin it by pretending you're not. This is what life's about, the curveballs. Have fun! (and report back) ;)

Did I sense "longing for youth" in this post?

Don't answer it, I asked myself :p

better fire up the helicopter

Good idea. PKM, can I borrow yours? If not, I'm just going to have to use that Bugatti Veyron that's parked in my garage(Someday I'll say that and it will be true - just practicing).

No seriously, I was about to just ditch the girl and go with somebody else closer, not only because of that one night, but I don't want to spend months making that Provo to Nephi drive if there's actually a potential relationship there. I just don't want to be a dick though and renege. Provo to Salt Lake is okay because you're going to things, entertainment, places, and I sometimes actually have reasons to be there other than just seeing a girl so it works out nicely. I've done that before. A couple days a week sufficed. Nephi? That girl would have to be out of this world to make me look beyond all the girls that are within 10 miles or so.
