Will the Jazz use the Okur TPE this season?

It's 150% plus $100,000, math head. ;)

Gojizz79 is pwning the hell outta witty banter this afternoon. Typewriter jokes to fat chick jokes in the same breath. What range. Respekt.
I don't get it (and it wouldn't be the first time).

Is this all people being facetious, or am I missing the joke? If it's the former, then lol.

An honest man, I like that. Rep'd because I can. Don't spend my 1 point all in one place.

I was just commenting on how gojizz is the most natural genius around these parts... so, yeah, the former

I just noticed the name change you gave me lol. Nice subtle work. It flew over my head not once but at least twice.

To be fair, Numberica, I was just messing around with the $100k setup and thought your first post on this was an excellent point that seems to have slipped past the board until today. I would have repped it if I could have.

This extra spending ability completely changes the trade landscape. Thanks for the heads up.

If the Jazz trade Big Al AND use the TPE, they could take back a total of:

$10.89mil (Memo's salary) + $0.1mil = $10.99mil (from the TPE)

+

$14mil*1.5 + $0.1mil = $21.1mil (from Big Al)

= $32.09mil (assuming the sum of some of the contracts taken back is exactly $10.99mil)

Is that right?

Something like Big Al to Houston for Luis Scola, Terrence Williams (those 2 using the TPE), Kevin Martin, Kyle Lowry, Patrick Patterson and Marcus Morris.

Who says no?

I never understood why the Jazz don't show some interest in obtaining Dwight Howard. Maybe we could talk to him and convince him that we can build a contending team. We definitely have the pieces. We would need a good PG maybe Mo Williams or Kyle Lowry for CJ Miles and Millsap. Then we could trade our pick, GS pick, Jefferson, Harris for Dwight and we take Hedo's contract.

PG: Lowry/Watson/Tinsley
SG: Hayward/Burks/Bell
SF: Hedo/Josh Howard
PF: Favors/Kanter
C: Howard/Kanter

We could easily contend for a title with that line up especially that Lowry is having a great season, Hayward moves back to SG, Favors get to start, Kanter learns from D12 and we retain our depth. We could use that TPE to absorb Hedos contract if I'm not correct?

I say no. Also, the roster limit says no.

What is it about you and giving out rep like it's candy, then pimping up your 1 rep power. Love it..

Because it is 1 point and I find it funny. When it is actually worth something I will be more selective when I give it.

Not sure if serious. Is Houston in fire sale mode again?

I was looking for a Big Al to LA facilitating Pau to somewhere else and we get two solid players at point, sg, and/or sf, but have to take Meta. LA has cap to grab Dwight and Bynum's option to dangle for the missing piece. Something like Denver for Gallinari and Wilson Chandler S&T when he's let loose. Nene, Pau, and the rat pack could be fun to watch.

Not serious, although it worries me that you think I might have been serious. At least one of us is dumber than I thought.

I was just trying to work a single ridiculous trade using the Jazz's biggest contract and the TPE. It's crazy that the Jazz could squeeze that many players (with 3 of them significant contributors on non-rookie contracts) out of one player (plus the TPE) in a trade.

Jefferson, Harris, Bell and Miles for Lowry, Martin, and Thabeet or Dalembert. This would be my dream. Pipe dream I know but a dream nonetheless.

We get the point guard we need. Martin has just one more year after this year (and could be an intriguing expiring asset before the deadline next season) and Thabeet/Dalembert both have team options so we could kiss them au revoir after this season.

Lowry-Watson
Martin-Burks
Howard-Hayward
Millsap-Kanter
Favors-Dalembert/Thabeet

The problem is, Burks and Hayward may get screwed over as far as playing time even more since Martin, unlike Bell or Miles, deserves PT. And likewise with Watson.

I've been trying to figure out a deal to get lowry too. I think there would have to be a 3rd time involved and that 3rd team would need to give the rockets some cheap young guys in exchange for dumping a contract which the Jazz would take on. So something like Harris + Al + 3rd team good player to rockets Lowry + Sammy and bad contract to Jazz, and a salary dump for the 3rd team.
