It's absolutely insane, but is probably not going to matter. Maybe if we had a congress with any sense of moral obligation or backbone it would, but alas.

The New York Times reported a few days ago that McConnell is refusing to bring to a vote any bill to safeguard the elections from foreign attack. There’s a Democratic bill to provide election funding to state and local governments. There’s a bipartisan Senate bill to “codify cyberinformation-sharing initiatives between federal intelligence services and state election officials, speed up the granting of security clearances to state officials, and provide federal incentives for states to adopt paper ballots.” McConnell won’t allow any of them to come to a vote.

Hypothetical.

Let’s say this is all 100% smoke and mirrors. That Russia and collusion and interference is all ******** (it’s not).

There is still no benefit from opposing a bill like that? Like wtf?

The president hangs a "for sale" sign on his forehead. The info he would accept from a foreign state actor like Russia would probably be misinformation, or fake news, but that's OK by Trump.

This is a defense of American democracy? This is something our Commander-in-Chief would actually openly invite? The word "treason" has been thrown about quite a bit, outside of its correct application in times of war, but, nonetheless, Trump hanging a "for sale" sign out there in this fashion should, IMHO, elicit disgust and outrage in all Americans.

What is the point of being sovereign as a nation and holding elections decided by American citizens when the president throws open our elections to any foreign state actor that wants to intervene in our sovereignty?

Wow. Just wow. Any of you see this?

He is doing everything in his power to stop foreign influence on American elections. Unless it is dirt on his opponents.

I do give him credit, thought. Most politicians would deny this type of corruption. The dude just came clean and confessed.
