Woj says the Jazz are listening to offers for Mitchell

Does a contender want Don the same way the Wolves wanted Gobert though?

That's my issue. I think the Jazz's asking price is so high that no contender is going to talk themselves into Mitchell because he's overrated, so what is needed to get him will make your team worse in the short and long run.
I think Ainge is perfectly willing to not touch the other team's win-now pieces and instead focus on the draft capital. Look at the Gobert deal. Once McDaniels was off-the-table he pivoted towards more picks. I think it's very possible when we trade Mitchell we trade him for tons of picks and nothing else of value... maybe some expiring/filler. So in some of those cases, Ainge won't ask the other team to get worse in the short term. The choice will be now vs the future.

If there's one thing I'm not worried about, it's teams not having interest in Donovan Mitchell. We underrated Rudy in a trade, we did the same with Mitchell. There will always be a market for superstar players, especially ones entering their prime like Mitchell.
Yep, I feel the same way. Fans undervalue imperfect winning players. Mitchell will have plenty of interest IMO. The best thing is also - we don't actually need to trade him right now. We have tons and tons of time to wait for the desperation to kick in somewhere in the league if we don't like the offers right now.

There's no need to get off of bad contracts now. If someone values Gay and wants him in a deal that's fine, but there is no reason to get a worse deal from someone to take on Gay.

I agree that taking a worse deal to include Gay would not be the way to go. We have a floor on salary that we have to hit anyways. It will be interesting to see which players are still around when all the action is done. If Conley, Bogey, JC etc are gone, we are going to need some salary

I guess his assumption is - because other teams are waiting on Durant and not in the Mitchell bidding. But that makes no sense. The Jazz should be perfectly happy to wait it out and get the best offer they can get.
Are we sure teams arent waiting on Mitchell? I think the wait might be more on Utah than Brooklyn.
