Would the Jazz want Kirilenko?

He's been complaining about the pressure in Russia. In all legitimate honesty, I'd rather see the Jazz Bear as a bonafide member of the team than bring back Andrei. Please let dead dogs die.

To put that into context (not that it matters to the people who don't like him) he was talking about how if the team doesn't win by 20+, if the team wins but doesn't blow the other team out they (the fans) don't consider it to be a win and scrutinize the team.

At the vet minimum, yes. I'll even go up to 5m/year.

But the mad russian will outbid us by far, so this should be a non-issue.

AK has been the consummate team player for his Russian teams -- MVP in the Euroleague this past year and Defensive Player of the Year. His style of play lends itself to being a complementary player, not the go-to man (he doesn't have the offensive abilities for this). But his value, even during his off-years, was reflected in the stats that showed how much better the Jazz were when he was on the floor, and he often came through in the clutch in games when he was not playing well.

Yet people pick on emotional issues, like the time he cried on TV or complained about lack of touches, or his disputes with Jerry. He may not be the player we had hoped for, but he still is a good player who puts the team first, and I think the hate on this board for him is just plain stupid. When healthy he was the Jazz's MVP and second only to DWill after DWill emerged. The one issue of concern to me would be that he has become injury prone.

For the right price, he's definitely an upgrade over DeMarre Carroll, Raja Bell, Josh Howard.

I'd like to see these players as a good core unless trades come along.

Harris
Hayward
AK 47
Millsap
Favors
Kanter
Burks

I hope we can get something decent for Al and get a better backup PG. I wasn't happy with any of our backup PG's.

Brandon Rush would also be nice. Thinking about it more and more, Kirilenko would be a good sign (for the right price).

Starters:
Harris
Hayward
Millsap
Favors
Al

Bench (9 player rotation)
Earl or replacement (hopefully having tremendous 3-point shooting)
Burks
Kirilenko
Kanter

There's no way AK comes here for a discount. The last thing I want to hear from Boler is "AK for three"....Eeew, I just threw up in my mouth writing that.

We couldn't shoot. SA exposed that.

So why would we want to add another player without range beyond a dunk?

Lets apply this to real life. Your car needs a new tire. So instead of going to the store to get a new tire, you go to the store and buy a thing of oil.

Doesn't make sense, right?

So why would the Jazz, a team desperately in need of shooting, go out and sign AK?

I like AK, and he would probably help us considering our lack of SF depth, but it just wouldn't feel right bringing him back. I feel like both parties just need to move on and see other people.

I'm down with AK coming back. What a better teacher than Kirilenko for Hayward...... I'm sure Gordon picked up a lot of his underrated defense from playing with him anyway.
He's still one of the best defenders around, and can get to the free throw line whenever he wants.
Not to mention paring Steve Nash's pretty passing with AK's would be fun to see.

I like that. If we could get Nash and AK, and give up one of our big guys for a good shooter I think we could get deep in the playoffs. I don't think it would be a great team in the long run, but that would be fun for two years.
