Pretty good poll and a tough choice. I chose sexton but I think a first round pick is pretty close for this jazz roster.

Are we trying to win? I really can't tell right now.

You don't rely on Sexton if you're trying to win. He should always be just a "break-glass-in-case-of-emergency" type sparkplug scorer off the bench. Playing about 15mpg max unless he gets absolutely red hot.

If you're NOT trying to win, he's the perfect guy to be featured heavily. His defense sucks, he's wildly undisciplined, and seems to have lost most of his vertical. His shot selection and decision making are terrible.

Sexton seems like a nice guy, but he's just a bad NBA player and the perfect tank commander.

I would have preferred a pick.

I honestly think they are just trying to play the games and let the chips fall where they may. They aren't objectively "trying" to tank, nor are they "trying" to win, they are just playing games with the coach's decision on who plays and when and how long and such. They are running Hardy's game plan with the players we have. I would say, if we had to pick one or the other, the team and the players would feel like they are trying to win every game. But I would believe the FO is happy either way, until we end up right in the middle of the pack with no good picks and no way to move without giving up a ton of assets. I am sure DA has a plan, but we won't really know what that is until he pulls the trigger.

I like draft picks. Pretty sure the Cavs would've traded Sexton during FA if a FRP was offered from another team but a dude coming off knee surgery isn't going to get that which is why he was used as a trade ballast in the Don trade.

I'm starting to think Kessler might be the only long term keeper on this team. Lauri is clearly a #2 (or #3 if they still had Don/Rudy types still on the roster). If Lauri is your #1 option then you are not going to be a top 6 playoff seed despite the hot start. Obviously the guys on our team don't see Lauri as a #1 as they don't even look for him down the stretch of games. Also I'm a bit skeptical that Kessler and Lauri can co-exist starting together in today's league as a C/PF combo unless Lauri spends more of his time on the perimeter in a SF role like he did in Cleveland last year. Hopefully Ainge can use the picks to draft or trade for a #1. I would also be flexible in potentially including Lauri, or any of our guys, in such a trade similar to what Cleveland just did in the Don deal.

Ainge needs to find us an alpha before I'm going to worry too much about them winning or tanking.

His vertical looks fine to me. Dude has major hops and speed. I have seen him get way up in games this season.
