Would you trade Jefferson or Millsap for Jrue Holiday?

Jefferson could look really good for that team though. What they are missing is somebody that can reliably create a shot late in the clock. That's AJ to a T. Also if there is a coach in the league that can convince Al that he can trust his teammates to rotate behind him it might be Collins. That could be a great situation for him.

Yeah, then they can own 3 of the worst contracts in the NBA. Iggy, Elton Brand, and Al Jefferson.

Great fit play wise, but terrible fit salary wise.

Maybe Al + pick for AI + Drue? Maybe find a 3rd partner to take on Brand's ridiculous expiring. I dunno. I'm pretty sure at this point Al is going somewhere based on the progression of Favors.

And he has value despite his flaws. Hawes is expiring this year so they might bite on a guy like AJ. I don't recall seeing them using an amnesty either. They could just cut Brand?

No,no,no. No need to commit ourselves to a bad contract like Iggy's.

Holiday is a decent PG, but he isn't top 10. I don't think he will be top 10 ever.

Igs will be expiring the year after Sap gets his extention. That's about when Utah will be needing to extend DFav and God. Seems like we got to spend the money anyways. This was a popular idea halfway through the season IIRC. Do you think he's declining? He seems like a good 2 year fit while grooming Burks.

Yes.

Don't like him one bit, and hasn't done anything for 2/3 of the season. He reminds me of a younger Harris he's a sg in a pg's body.

i would trade jefferson for a lot of guys at this point. dude's just not efficient and does nothing to make others around him better, but his raw numbers look good enough that corbin keeps confusing him for a franchise player.

Salary is hard to match for Jefferson without Elton Brand (who I don't think they're desperate to be rid of IN ADDITION to Holiday), or Iggy (who goes past 2012 and might ruin the Jazz spending power).

Not sure how to make that work. Brand/Holiday for Jefferson/2012 lottery pick if the Jazz get one?

Bringing this thread up from the grave.

I have been looking at AI and am having a difficult time seeing decline. I do not watch a lot of games around the league so teams like Philly I miss. Somebody please make the case that Iggy is not valuable.

I see a guy that is paid too much but is bringing a lot on a team that is using him less. His 3pt % has gone up this year absurdly. That can only happen by catching passes off the ball effectively. His age and contract would make him a guy in his prime that expires in 2 years. Honestly if you want Jefferson gone I have a hard time finding a player around the league that could possibly bring a return that both teams like. IMO he used to be a guy that dominated the ball by necessity and poor coaching but Collins is getting the team away from that. I don't watch the games like I said this is just a guess. Andre has always had a rep for D.

All along I have believed that Al would get better when the hunger hit him as far as the playoffs. He's disappointed so far. This Rox game is critical to his future IMO. If Al doesn't play with a playoff fire and competitiveness in this game then you all will win me over. I'll stop defending him.

His contract being huge and going into 2013 is worth taking into consideration, and maybe he's no longer available-ish?

Maybe he isn't. Collins has done a superb job over there no matter how much I hated his whining voice. Honestly I thought he would suck with that whine. Shows what I know.

Anyways Collins has put AI in a position to put up career 3 pt %. That has to be about moving him around without the ball. Dude is shooting near 40%. AI might be a lot better than advertised rather than declining.

Who's the last coach that was worth a damn in Philly? Oh, Brown, I know. Sorry. Allen Iverson was that guys death.
