What's new

WOW hornets......3yrs 27million Lance Stephenson! wowowoowowoww so mad right now.

Stephenson just isn't a Jazz/Spurs type guy personality wise. He just won't fit.

I'm fed up with this story....you don't win championships only with good personality players! The head coach is not paid to manage only players with good attitude, if a coach has personality he can manage difficult players too!

Charlotte made a huge deal and the Jazz screwed up with a ridiculous contract!

Don't really like Stephenson on the Hornets. Feel like they really needed a shooter type of player. Should have waited a year and thrown the max at Thompson, or somebody like that.

If he stays mentally in-tune though, it is a good value contract.

Not sure Jordan is the type of mentor/presence for the Hornets that Bird is for the Pacers. Will Jordan have any positive effect on Lance?

Whether you're fed up with the story or not, it's true. The Jazz have ALWAYS been this way. Being a small market and a not a prime destination for free agents gives the Jazz a much smaller margin for error. It's unfortunate, but a fact of life.

Here's the difference the Spurs can afford to bring in the type of guys they like. You guys don't have that luxury. Even still the Spurs tired their hands with a guy like Steven Jackson when they weren't a title contending team for a few seasons.

Teams should never handicap themselves by looking for model citizens.

Being always this way has brought a lot of championships to the Jazz...right?

They have a great shooter in Gary Neal, picked up PJ Hairston in the draft, and just added Marvin Williams via free agency.

I'm not saying that you're not right. I'd rather the Jazz take a risk on a guy like Stephenson, but I've just followed the Jazz too long to see them changing too much.

You would think being in a smaller market would be the reason to take more risk not less.

Jazz have had player's with personal red flags. I just think younger teams are more risk adverse when it comes to adding these kinds of players into the fold. I don't think the Spurs mind a guy like Stephenson since their team is so strong mentally.

Obviously teams conduct interviews and **** to get a feel for just how off their rocker a player might be and judge off that. I don't think Lance is that crazy though, just think he gets really, really cocky at some points and forgets to check himself. That can be a positive and negative.

It's not the model citizen part that is the issue with Stephenson... It is the fact that he can't get along with his teammates. Stephen Jackson is widely regarded as a good teammate... had his legal issues, but he's a guy players like to play with.

Guys like Jackson and Barnes are beloved by teammates, and loathed by the opposing teams. You can be an a** and still have a place on a contender. Just have to know who to be an a** to.

Lance may work in Cha.... He would have been a terrible fit here. We are too young and have developing leaders... can't bring Lance to that environment.
