What's new

Woww... MLS averages more attendance than NBA and NHL

lol, scootsy do it again as by accident you gave me positive;). Seriously it is fine if you folks like it. I can't stand a minute of it - would rather watch women synchronized swimming or rhythmic gymnastics.

damnit... well i guess i am ok with that. i just can't stand people hating on baseball, so negging was a knee-jerk reaction, i just biffed. i do agree that it didn't belong in the olympics.... people outside the us and latin america don't have much appreciation for baseball, i think that it simply because they don't understand the nuances and chess-like nature of baseball. just like most americans don't understand the nuances and flow of soccer.

someone neg AK on my behalf. just playing.

I really try to get into MLS every season because of RSL but it's so hard to find their games on tv or online that I can't even follow it properly... :\

Football or soccer is 100x more interesting then baseball or american football. King of the sports for reason.

Baseball is a cerebral game. It takes patience. Those with short attention spans struggle with it.

I'm with Bronco on this one. It must be there is not enough flopping for you, or too much thinking and strategy. I get it, some people just can't stand that thinking stuff or can't handle big numbers.... more than one hand.

Futbol is interesting in the same way infomercials are interesting to insomniacs. It's the only thing on and it's something to numb the brain.

Of course MLS plays 30ish games a season and the NBA plays 82 and MLB plays 2 million games a season.

Last season the Jazz averaged 18,680 and Real Salt Lake was close but slightly less with 18,153. I would guess that is a bit of a low season for the Jazz and it was a record high for Real. Plus the Jazz have to fill about 3 times as many games each season and have a smaller arena than Real.

I wonder how profitable they are in comparison. The Jazz arena is probably cheaper cost to the owners since it is older and smaller and they have 1/3 the number of games with ticket prices probably being cheaper on average.

But Soccer is growing very fast here and will continue to grow.
