Those are all players I would rather have than Gasol, Sap and Al. I wouldn't mind Brand if he was cheap (<5 million) and knew he was a bench guy.

I was just using the guys mentioned in a previous reply and not advocating that we should go after any of the ones I mentioned.

It's true though, they can't be cheap. No, they don't have to actually sign players up to the minimum payroll, but they'll be surcharged the difference if they're below. Either way, they'll have to pay at least 90% of the cap to their players.

Could the Jazz use this as a *wink* *wink* deal to a Kanter or Favors?

"Hey, we are turning the team over to you. If you do this, this and this, we won't overpay some crappy vet to come in. That means at the end of the year, you'll get a check around $XXXXXXXX.XX for your work this year."

Kaman is absolute garbage. Worse blackhole than Al.
Hickson is being over-rated.
What has Diop done?
Okafor? really?

Absolutely. I would much rather have any of the players you mentioned over Al, Millsap, and Pau. Any of those players on this team means that Favors and Kanter will be relied on to perform.

You under-rate Millsap so hard it isn't even funny. He's substantially better than anybody on that list.

I think the Clipps could have serious interest in Millsap; and I think Millsap want to win and play with a real PG, so he may be interested even if that means coming off the bench (he'd still close most games). So, S&T Millsap to LAC with other bits for Bledsoe and salary match. This is possible, at least.

Bobcats could sign either outright. Did you look at Char's salary commitments?

My bet would be that Marvin gets included in a deal only if he is a salary match for a player the jazz want to commit to long-term. Otherwise, I don't see him getting us a good pick or anything else (but I'll admit, my imagination has become a bit jaundiced by the non-moves of our organization).

I haven't thought at all about the Millsap to the Clipps deal before. He would be very good for them, and they might even be able to play some small ball with him and Blake at the same time. I like that idea a lot. That way we would not have to include Burks. Maybe we can sign and trade them Sap and they can send us a crappy contract or something and Bledsoe. We might have to give up a draft pick.

I realize Charlotte could sign them outright, but at the very least they would probably do a sign and trade for a trade exception or something. Maybe we throw in a player or a draft pick to get a young guy. I know this is probably not possible, but MKG would be good to have.

I agree Marvin sucks and would not be anything other than filler to most teams.

I agree but I only want him on the team if he is willing to a fair pay and not expect the alpha dog role.

I agree about this. The only players that I could see replacing some of Millsaps production on that list would be Landry and Splitter, but they are not as good. A lot of people on here like Landry, but he is not as good as Millsap. Which might be good I guess, because then there would be less of an argument in favor of not starting Favors or Kanter.

yaaaaaawwwwwwnnnnn,

must we keep referring to him in this way?

This **** is overblown to all hell.

Hickson is being over-rated.

Not sure I'd call it overrated. He produces numbers but isn't anywhere near top level material. He's a good backup forced into a starter's role. That's what the Jazz need, a backup. I don't think Millsap can be sold on that. I don't think Landry is the right fit for that, and Hickson could be sold on it, I think, if the price is right.

As long as people are saying they want him back I will continue to say I want conditions.
