Zach Lowe tells Utah (and a couple other teams) what to do in free agency

Cmon Fish

Stop following the pack.

Saying Millsap is better than Stauskus is just dumb. At least at this stage.

Stauskus is an extremely talented shooter who went to the biggest joke of a franchise and played with that nutcase Cousins, and didn't get the right kind of development.

Millsap is a sorry *** shooter who plays pretty good defense and has absolutely no upside. Stauskus could soon be a very good player in the league.
Ya millsap > stauskas might be going to far.
I just really really like our wing rotation and don't want to add to it unless it's a guy like jimmy butler or leonard.
We are not getting either of them so I don't want an addition at the wing spot

I like our wing rotation too, but you take Stauskus if he's cheap or free in a heart beat.

Shooting is really valuable in this league. That's what's Stauskus projects to be, a really good shooter. 1 year in the league with limited minutes does not mean you are bust. Not even close. People who have declared him a bust are retards.

Draymond Green's deal with GSW is a fully-locked 5-year deal, sources say. No options either way. And it's 5-years, $82M.

Dray's max would have been 5 yrs 92.1 mil

The Kings, after completing this trade, will have the salary-cap space to outbid Indiana for a free agent they've long coveted: Monta Ellis

Kings' push for Rajon Rondo will likely result in Sacramento visit in next day or two, per source. Sides will talk again Wednesday.

That'd be so funny if the Kings rolled out a Rondo/Ellis backcourt right after they sucked it up in Dallas.

Sixers will receive a protected 1st-round pick from the Kings, and swap rights w/ Sacto in the 1st round of two other drafts, sources say.

The swap is useless. Kings going to be better than the Sixers for a while.

Kings need to forget about Rondo and see if they can get Lawson instead. If they just traded Stauskas for Ellis, that is a pretty good deal, even if it cost them an extra protected first.

RFA Jae Crowder has reached agreement on a five-year, $35 million deal with the Boston Celtics, league sources tell RealGM.

Good deal. I like Crowder.

We will pick up Booker's 4.75m option now, which is a good move given he could go out and probably get 8 million a year.
Pleiss will be around 3 million a year. Evans likely will be back on the cheap along with Ingles. We'll probably be 5m under the cap when its all said and done.
I don't hate the conservative approach, just hate the thought of getting the 14th pick in the draft and barely missing the playoffs.

If the Jazz miss the playoffs, the cake baking approach was a huge mistake. But alas, Rudy, Alec and QS ain't letting that happen so it's a moot point.

So how many minutes are you going to give him per game and whose minutes are you going to cut: Hayward, Hood or Burks? Hood has shown WAY more potential than Stauskas. Obviously not going to play Hayward < 30 minutes.

So Stauskas or any other wing creates:
Hayward 30
Burks 22
Hood 22
Wing "X" 22?

Sorry, I just don't see it. I'd rather have 3 players going at 30-34 minutes. Hood projects to be Kyle Korver with a post game and the ability to drive into the paint. Hayward is a fringe all-star (probably would be if the Jazz had a winning record). SO that means Burks is the odd-man out.

The Kings are so freaking stupid.

When you draft a player in the top 10 and then dump him a year later, that's how you remain one of worst franchises in sports. That's such a bad decision. Regardless if you think he's a bust.

You draft with a plan. The player drafted should have had hours upon hours of scouting done, and you should be confident in who you took, and see the thing through. You invest and develop that player. You don't throw away a top 10 player a year later.

Unbelievable.
