What's new

Darft Jimmer Fredette.

Unless we miss the playoffs or trade for him/draft pick not going to get him. Dont think there is much doubt he will go in the 1st round now. Ford says some scouts are talking about late lottery now.

I've been saying this for weeks, and nobody seems to agree with me. Some team in the lottery will fall in love with him because he can flat out play. And, this is a weak draft.

Think its possible to liquidate ak for a usable draft pick?

You are a ****ing moron, imbecile, pong-mongler, tard-nuckle, crusty underwear wearing, polygamous back handing, rude dude, Pee-Wee Herman movie buddy, rant-party ruiner, midget scab eating son of a beeotch.

I'm sorry, but if I get a stupid infraction for calling someone an *** then what does this constitute? Please answer that moe.

Because mine was semifunny, well, at least to me. Who said I didn't get an infraction for this post, guy?

Please...I know how this site works. It's called star treatment. I'm just a lowly peon so it's easier to hand down the punishment to someone like me. I'd shave my head if you received/receive an infraction for that.

You talking trash about shaving heads? I shave my head and have for 10 years. I have been told it looks good on me and makes me look younger. I prefer to have a shaved head and you talk about it like it makes you a pariah. I am deeply offended.

I remember people said a lot of the same things about Morrison. He was not just a good shooter, he was a scorer.

From DraftExpress.com https://www.draftexpress.com/article/Adam-Morrison-NBA-Draft-Scouting-Report-2790/#ixzz1CEzSjChU

I have to disagree on the Morrison comparison. Yes they were both white. They have much different games, and they have different work ethic's and attitudes. Morrison according to the Lakers players seems to spend more time high and out of it, than working on his game. Jimmer has the fire to be great and will do what it takes to excel at the next level. You can't stop someone with that fire.
The desire to excel and succeed, and put in the work is the difference between a draft bust, and someone that becomes a rotation player in the NBA despite a low draft position.... etc.

I wasn't making a direct comparison rather that just because someone is pegged as a scorer in college does not mean it will translate to the NBA. If you go back and read the scouting reports on Morrison you would get the impression he is damn near the second coming of Larry Bird. Great shot, explosive scorer, good feel for the game, works hard. Only fleeting reference is made of his limitations: poor athlete, lateral movement non-existent, defensive issues. And no one pegged him for being lazy and just not caring. These ended up being a good part of the reason he has not been in the NBA what they thought he would be.

It is possible that Jimmer will run into some of the same issues. He has knocks on his physical size and athleticism already. I was making the point that at this point he is anything but a lock to be an NBA-caliber player. He could just as easily become a Vinny DelNegro (in terms of NBA success) or a Morrison.

I haven't seen many scouting reports on him yet though. Will be interesting to see where he falls. But I think for us we already have undersized folks at critical positions. Don't need another one.

Seriously, let's trade AK right now for another pick so we have a chance at this kid. He's amazing. I don't think anybody here can say he isn't the best player in College Basketball right now. He'd be a perfect backup to Deron, we really need a scorer in that 2nd unit right now. People who say that he can't pass or that he isn't athletic enough to play in the NBA don't know what the heck they're talking about. Best case scenario is that he'll tear it up as our backup PG, so we'll be able to trade him for some really good players (a la Darren Collison)

This would totally make up for us drafting Brewer over Reddick. There I said it.

Reddick went ahead of Brewer. Orlando drafted him 11th we picked up Brewer 14th. I think the jazz would have drafted him. He slid to 11th because of his back problem that kept him out most of his rookie year.

Is the dudes name really Jimmer? Are his parents cousins or something? Makes me think of this:

No, Jimmer is his nickname. James is his real first name. Jimmer is cool though because all over the country and ESPN people say "you got Jimmered". Jimmer is a very distinctive name. Dont be jealous.
