2014 College Football

I feel like there's this mentality that now that BYU has actually started scheduling really good teams, being INDY is gonna be ok. Don't get me wrong, it's a great start, but you still gotta win those games. These games aren't going to help you much if you're getting 5 or 6 wins per year and still not in a conference.

I disagree.
Why do you feel that there is a mentality that suddenly being independent is ok for byu.
All the fans I know still want to get into a conference

Not so much a blanket statement on fans such as yourself. I get that there are still a lot of BYU fans that "get it". However, when these series are being announced, I'm seeing a lot of BYU fans I work/live with and the ones taking to the internet basically celebrating the fact that they are considered a P5 by these power conference schools that are willing to schedule home-and-homes with them.

Again, I will agree that getting these games scheduled is a huge thing for BYU. However, I think it's not even half the battle. It's not beyond reason that you guys lose to Nebraska, UCLA, Boise St, Michigan, Missouri, and Utah St next year. That's 6 losses, and while you may win 1 or 2 of those games, maybe you drop 1 to a Cincy or East Carolina who are somewhat decent programs. What does 6 or 7 wins get you from now on year in and year out? Nothing that you don't already have.

I get that getting into a P5 conference is still the goal, but right now, that seems a few years away at the least. How are BYU fans going to handle .500 seasons in the mean time?

They aren't going to be .500 any time soon as long as they have QBs, and the QB pipeline looks really good.

Lol

Double lol @ the fact a mediocre Big 12 team came in and exposed the SEC by dominating from day one.
I am impressed at this ugli post not having anything referring to byu in it.

Like finding a leprechaun riding a unicorn in shangra la while sipping the blood of Christ from the holy grail

Missouri got the SEC boost. It's just an aura of awesome that happens when you join the conference. Sorry Utah will never experience that.

Will have to settle for just destroying every SEC team we play til we get dat invite I guess.

if they go .500 in 2016 they will have a far better team than they have had since god knows when. I'd put the early over under on wins with that schedule that season at 5.5. It's nice for fans that they have real opponents. But you will soon find out what that means.

Losing to Utah St, UCF, Nevada, Boise, and Memphis all in the same season.

Dat pipeline doe.

How many of those losses were with taysom hill at QB again?

If you don't think that taysom hill and tanner mangum have alot of potential....... LMAO

So far one of those QB's can't stay healthy and the other has yet to take a snap of D1 football. You can talk potential all day long, and those two certainly have potential but that is not going to automatically equate to 8 wins against the upcoming schedules BYU has on tap. I'd think BYU fans would learn not to blow the "potential" horn after Jake Heaps.

Best case scenario for BYU and Taysom is that he comes back from a broken leg and a torn ACL without missing a beat. In fact, Taysom being 100% from day 1 is BYU's ONLY chance of surviving that early schedule. What are the odds of Taysom being that good that early? I guess it matters who you ask. I hear some BYU fans claiming he's already 100% after seeing him in limited reps during spring ball.

Mangum comes with big expectations but most likely he'll be being broken in as a fulltime starter in 2016 during a pretty tough schedule. Stranger things have happened, but that's usually not a recipe for success.

I probably won't debate this any further with BYU fans because Utah has lived what BYU is about to go through, and I'm pretty certain the benefit of time will prove me right. 5, 6, and 7 win seasons are in your future.

those two certainly have potential

Yep so we agree.

As to the rest of your post, I never made any claims having anything to do with all that noise

So we talkin bout a pipeline or one decent QB who's playing style will never allow him to stay healthy?

#Pipeline
Well the next in line was one of the top high school recruits in the country. (Tanner mangum)

Try to keep up uggs
