The Pelicans make the playoffs by having the same record has the thunder. The Pelicans own the tiebreak with the thunder.

The thunder will look back to the Utah game and know if they had won they would be in the playoffs.

Which means we will have cost them the playoffs. Or Kanter cost them.

Pelicans remaining schedule is brutal, especially compared to OKC's. Sorry, but I just don't see it happening. Going to be much more fun anyways to watch Curry vs. Westbrook and the GS offense absolutely destory Kanter.

i just checked. GS might rest their players to play pelicans instead of thunder? idk it will be interesting

This.

It would be one of the best first round match up ever.

Ummm.... no it wouldn't. As much as we all dislike Kanter, we want the Thunder to make the PO so we can get the 1st round pick they owe us faster.

How does that work out, i never heard the details of the pick.

Let's not kid ourselves, here. Injuries cost them the playoffs.

It has nothing to do with Kanter playing bad defense to end the season. Durant is shut down, Ibaka's out, and Westbrook's incredible, yet cringey hero ball can only take them so far.

If anything, I WANT them to make the playoffs, so they lose in the first round, and get a worse pick.

Like seriously if OKC wins, it's like sticking it to the GSW pretenders that took our #8 pick that could have netted us Lillard.

But if GSW wins then it's also sticking it to Kanter, a long Summer for him wondering what went wrong. We also get the pick 1 year earlier.

Like I said, win/win.

They owe somebody a playoff protected pick this year, so if they miss the PO they will have to trade their 2016 pick instead. If they do that, they can't trade 2 1st rounders in consecutive years so are pick would get pushed back at least a year.

They don't get a pick if they make the playoffs.

I was just looking at this. Id LOVE to see the Pelicans knock the Thunder out of the playoffs.

Suck it Kanter.

Injuries did hurt them. But so did having Kanter on the floor. The thunder allow the most opponent points per 100 possessions in the league when Kanter is on the court. That absolutely comes into play.

2017 first round draft pick from Oklahoma City

Oklahoma City's 1st round pick to Utah protected for selections 1-14 in 2017 (conveyable if Oklahoma City conveys a 1st round pick to Philadelphia in 2015), 1-14 in 2018 (conveyable if Oklahoma City has conveyed a 1st round pick to Philadelphia by 2016), 1-14 in 2019 and 1-14 in 2020; if Oklahoma City has not conveyed a 1st round pick to Utah by 2020, then Oklahoma City will instead convey its 2020 2nd round pick and 2021 2nd round pick to Utah [Detroit-Oklahoma City-Utah, 2/19/2015

I don't like Westbrook. I don't like Kanter. I don't like Curry. Something's gotta give. Win. Win.
Why don't you like curry?

Kanter sucks at defense. But I don't think it is accurate to judge the #'s with so many of their key defensive players out, and a whole new cast of players replacing them. Onn/off #'s must be considered with 5 man units. You have to think Roberson, Durant, and Ibaka would help Enes' on the court defensive #'s, as those would be the ones in the starting lineup with him.

They need not only to make the playoffs but also to finish ahead of Washington, because their pick going to Philadelphia is actually 1-18 protected and they are currently 18th and in the playoffs.
