What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

Re: Nightcrawler

It's def on my list and I have it, I just have not given it a watch yet.

About a week ago, I saw Martin Scorcese's After Hours (1985). A film in the absurdist camp of movie making. It has some great camera work by Mr. Michael Ballhaus. I believe this was his first movie for Mr. Scorcese and ending up doing many more. It also has some scenes with the sexy Linda Fiorentino. Oh, Linda.

I also learned or maybe this is urban film myth that the scenes in the street were shot in guerrilla style and no film permits were pulled.

90% on RT.

Don't have too high an expectation when watching Nightcrawler... I personally think it sorely lacked a good leading actress.

I also don't think it's on the same level as DRIVE.

Yeah, I remember when you said that a movie would be better with a few hotties thrown in or something to that affect. I have no expectations for Nightcrawler.

Haha.. well you'll see what I mean when you watch it. She's old enough to be his grandmother. Was kinda cringe worthy.

Foxcatcher was EXTREMELY boring. Like really really boring. Its to bad because after reading more into the backstory it could have been pretty good. They just chose to take out everything interesting that happened. Which is the opposite of what hollywood generally does.

That's very true. Generally a movie throws out something vague like "based on true events" and them embellishes like crazy.

The last movie I watched was Gravity. I liked it but overall it seems way way way overrated.
You had to watch that one on IMAX
It was awesome seen in that way

When Animals Dream

I was walking down the İstiklal Street, Taksim, looking frantically for a birthday present for my girlfriend which I should have bought earlier. I ended up buying her a sleeveless botton-up shirt, very hipstery i must say. I was going home, imagining how comfortable my bed would be when I saw the poster for When Animals Dream and I somehow found myself buying a ticket the same way I bought that shirt. I am glad I did. It was a Scandinaviam film and it was very gripping. I think the film is comparable to A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. I liked this one better. %89 on RT. I conclude the day thinking from my not so comfortable as I imagined bed that this was a "good decision" day.

I thought that was part of the game. She's old enough to be desperate to stick somewhere as she's running out of potential stops. He's weird enough to not even perceive the age issue.

I caught up on some watching recently and saw:

August: Osage County (2013

I'm a huge Streep fan so it doesn't take much for me to watch one of her projects. I enjoyed the movie with it's themes of family dysfunction, addiction and death. Some of the critics complained that there was too much acting going on. I don't know.

It got a surprising 64% on RT. I thought it should have rated a little bit higher.
