Rate the Song Above You

7/10. Classic, if painful.

But if we're going that route:

Velvet Underground - Waiting for the Man (I read a thing recently which said that, when you first start listening, it sounds like Moe Tucker's drumming has been going since the beginning of the universe, and you're just happening to tune in to it now.)

It is kinda not fair for me to rate this one as I am already a pretty big VU fan. And this one has always been a favorite of mine. I give it a solid 7.5/10. I think they carry the hesitation repeat in the middle a little too long, but otherwise a solid offering. I really like electronic music and heavy guitars so that leads me to certain groups and VU made nice use of the electronic manipulation available at the time. My offering in the following post.......

I am also a huge blues fan, both the older classic stuff, but especially so hear what modern groups are doing with it, shamelessly pushing the blues boundaries. I think Jack White in lots of ways is way ahead of his time. He is what most poser bands trying to sound "edgy" wish they were, and it comes about as he just explores his own musical interests instead of trying to be "different". You get that feel when you watch videos of his interviews, studio sessions and his favorite song, which I will link to for whoever is interested. In the meantime, the video:

And his favorite song...

Alright for some reason I get no sound from that video, just google it, it is great. But here is another excerpt from the video "It Might Get Loud". Google that too, worth a watch.

Another cool video with Jack White, Jimmy Page, and the Edge playing 7 Nation Army.

Enjoy!

I have no idea which song you want me to rate but I'll go ahead and rate the Vimeo video with the crazy music video, Jack White - Sixteen Saltines. Garage rock or whatever that is isn't the type of music I usually go for but this wasn't bad at all. 5.5/10

10/10 - - aside from the fact that I love, love, love this song - - it is one of the most classic of classics, never gets old

Along the lines of the Velvet Underground, but not really...

Rate the embedded video.

6/10 - Good, but not authentic enough for my taste and poor performance. Dig the animation tho.

My wife and I danced to this song at our wedding.
