Dan Hicks...I liked it. 6.5/10

Nice and upbeat and mellow. Made me want to listen to something heavier though.

This song is crazy good through some good headphones pretty loud.

KMFDM: 7/10. I liked it. Reminds me of a harder rocking Sleigh Bells.

Something new a co-worker sent to me that hooked me:

I keep getting "Youtube cannot play this in your country because we haven't worked out an agreement with the artist and GEMA."

Assholes.

Leon Bridges - Better man. That is really nice. There are a few awkward moments in the scansion, so I can only give it a 7/10, but that kid's got talent.

Staying in that vein, Jamie N Commons - Wash Me In the Water. This dude has a voice built for blues.

Jamie Commons. He has that voice for sure. 7/10.

Here is one for fun:

I think we had an entire thread at one time on misheard lyrics

Pearl Jam - Yellow Leadbetter
5.5/10 - the vocals sound like he's trying a little too hard, but half a point for the amusing lyrics

hope y'all like some zydeco - here's one from CJ Chenier on the accordion, nice to see him carrying on for his father Clifton

CJ Chenier - I liked the song, and I like zydeco, but I thought that performance was poor. Bad mixing. 7/10 for the song, 3/10 for the video/performance.

In honor of the King's passing:

The Thrill Is Gone is an all-time great song. 10/10 since it's a classic.

Something new from one of my favorite bands:

You know I am not a big fan of live music videos. I love live music when I am there, but listening to it I prefer the studio versions. But something about BB King's performances just transcend all that. He was great.

My Morning Jacket...really liked it 8/10. YB you keep introducing me to some good new music.

I felt like keeping with the blues for a bit and thought I would bring in one of the greatest losses in the world of music, when we lost Stevie Ray Vaughan. Not sure there has ever been a better guitarist. Here is one you don't hear as much, but I love the instrumentals on this one.

As a kicker you can check out this sound check. Great stuff.
