What's The Last Movie You’ve Seen?

So does she say she is a Fine Arts graduate, or a doctor?

1) this really doesn't have much to do with my point
2) seeing as being a graduate of a degree isn't exactly an occupation, I'm not sure why she'd tell people what her undergraduate degree was. Not exactly an instantly-mentioned talking point.

Yeah this is true.. but like that glass globe rolling around without mud you can explain it away saying it's a special material that repels dust and simply 'floats' on material.

Tracker removed you could say once he was out they put satellite tracking on him especially.

Car and wheels.. well they must have been special rubberised wheels that don't need air?

I dunno man... good observations though.

their where many more mistakes discussed it with the friends i went with. the glass globe i give you. on the rest i call ********.

also 1 thing witht he camera on the raptors. they where taken off all except 1 but still all had feeds in the "command center"

just seemed like nobody cares anymore. a few mistakes i can handle heck i spotted mistakes in dark knight and dark knight rises. but if a few of them are to ridiculous and blatant it elevates all the others.

I guess I am not exactly sure what your point was. I made a tongue in cheek poke at a stereotype, you came back apparently with a veiled liberal manifesto. Please condescend about stereotypes so the rest of us can continue having a pleasant conversation. TIA.

Yeah it was a really special experience for me too. My brother and I were looking through the Netflix catalogue last night deciding what to watch. My brother was attracted by the poster design and although he didn't care for the subject (picture of a nun) since he is a pretty strong atheist, he chose it anyway which really surprised me.

My brother is a Fine Art graduate and he really enjoyed the cinematography of the film. He watched every scene contemplating the story, the subjects, and finally I think the ending really surprised him and affected him in a real way both logically and emotionally. He has been questioning why I decided to become a Christian 3 years ago and after the movie ended I was able to explain to him a lot of what my faith was about. I think it was the first time that he finally understood where I was coming from. The film was really helpful in this regard for which I am really thankful to the director/producers for.

It has become a pretty special film to me and I think this will be one of those films that I will watch may be 1-2 times every year.

What is a pretty strong atheist and why would that stop him from watching a movie? I also hope that his degrees were obtained via a scholarship or something or free if you're in another country because I doubt he'll make enough money as a gardener to service the debt if he took out school loans.

Well a strong atheist refuse to even entertain the idea of a higher power/being beyond this world. He is like that. He won't watch any faith-based movies/films/shows, etc. He considers them to have an agenda and is trying to brainwash him. He got a loan for his degree but that was paid off ages ago.

Ok, so I FINALLY got to see:

Nightcrawler (2014)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8kYDQan8bw

Another film to add to the coffer of LA movies. Shot both here in the city as well as the valley, I sat through much of the movie trying to pick out local spots...

Anyway, 100 Take Jake, as some in the biz like to call him, played the perfect sociopath. From that opening scene where the security guard shined the flashlight in his Lou's eyes, I got drawn deeper and deeper into his mania. His cadence when speaking, his matter of fact worldview, his ****ing eyes were perfect representations of a psycho.

There were a few suspension of disbelief moments that I didn't care for but overall I thought it was a good movie.

95% on RT seems a little high. I would have given it an 80% or so.

No. That's just an Atheist. What would be the difference between a strong one and a weak one?

If your sibling is scared that a piece of creative work is going to challenge his personal purview, then chances are his lack of belief or faith is not as concrete as he thinks it is. I'm guessing he's pretty young, like in his early 20's?

Weak = still has an open mind and is willing to listen to explanation. Strong = refuse or can't be bothered to even discuss the topic.

He's 30. It's not that he thinks the work will challenge his view, it's that he can't be bothered sitting through it - this is tied to the 'Strong' definition above.

I also saw:

Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFphYRyH7wc

The trailer looks soft as **** but I can assure you that the movie is not shot that way.

It's a typical Coen Brothers movie and that's a good thing. Thoroughly enjoyed it and definitely recommend it. It's moody and kind of dark but there are some light hearted sections in the movie. I'd watch it after smoking some herb or sipping on some whiskey.

94% on RT.

And lastly, this past weekend, the HBO movie:

Temple Grandin (2010)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpkN0JdXRpM

MY buddy Dave told me I would love this movie and my co-worker, Damon, who hates Claire Daines thought she was great in this movie because of her usual affectations. Yeah, it's a solid movie and Daines does a good job of conveying the anxiety and over stimulated life of an autistic person.

100% on RT.

100 Take Jake? Is that because he's difficult to work with?

First of all, much could have changed since 2007 and it seems though he has definitely honed his skills. Anyway, I had a friend who worked on the Fincher movie, Zodiac. When it was Jake's turn to film a scene, he rarely if at all hit his lines on the first take. It would take countless takes for his to "hit his mark" so by the end of the film, the crew had a nickname for him. Anthony Edwards on the other hand, hit his mark every single ****ing time.

The Tribe

This film was unique. It is only in Sign Language. No talking, no subtitles but the communication was there and it was one of the strongest I have seen.

Don't be afraid to go see it. %86 on RT.

Slow West _ Pretty good little western. Not your typical western as its got quite a bit of dry humor in it. Fassbender is great as always and Ben Mendelsohn is also fantastic. ONly 80 mins long so definitely worth your time.

You talking **** on my boy Jake? Not cool man. Zodiac is one of my favorite movies of all time.

Just saw Jurrassic World. Anyone who doesn't like that movie is trying too hard. Dinosaurs, people getting eaten, acting not terrible, storyline...not amazing but not bad, Dinosaurs fighting dinosaurs.

Good waste of two hours. I'm not surprised it's breaking records. It just a good old fashioned good time. Great movie.

I might go see it this weekend based off your post

a good waste of two hours but I'll argue that it is easily forgotten in a week. Action scenes were fun but the human characters made me really miss the characters from the first one.

I thoroughly enjoyed Ex-Machina. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a sci-fi/thriller. It's a cool concept and there's interesting dialogue throughout.

This what I'm talking about. You miss the characters from the first movie? Laura whatever was terrible in the first one. Howard is better than Laura. Pratt does a really good job. He is this generations Harrison Ford. Handsome, funny, tough. Great casting job. The villian from Daredevil does a good job as always (D'Onofrio). Jake Johnson is funny.

It's nothing ground breaking. It's not there to change your life. It's funny, I jumped in fright once, and I watched a huge swimming dinosaur eat a great white shark. And an epic dinosaur battle for king of the island. Wtf is there not to like?

Great movie.
