Thank you!! My mom had already fixed like three pies, baklava, brownies, chocolate cake, homemade fudge, etc. when I was leaving the house this morning.
And that's only dessert.

I don't know about everyone's tradition, but where I come from, the men are obligated to give family kids some money every Eid. And not like a dollar or two. Typically $10 for young kids, and $20 for older ones. Needless to say, I ****ing hate Eid.

The nation of my ancestry is forever impacted by Ottoman influence-- especially in terms of diet and music!! Baklava, byrek, etc.
My mother uses pecans, actually. Not sure what you mean by levers, but she hand-rolls a ton of super-thin dough and bakes it, and then submerges it in vats of sugar-water (and sometimes honey).
