I'm with Fish on this one. My wife convinced me to replace our old teflon pans with SS pans and I hate cleaning them. I do 99.99% or the real cooking around here and I ended up buying a couple pans that I use most of the time that are non-stick.

But what I've been using more than anything else for the last year is this guy.

The Zojirushi Gourmet Sizzler. Thing is freaking huge! I can cook other crap on my stove top while I do stuff on this guy. The best thing for cooking eggs sausage and hash browns all at the same time I've ever seen short of a commercial griddle.

And pretty often when I'm cooking meat on the gourmet sizzler I'm making brown rice in the Zojirushi fuzzy logic rice cooker.

I'm a straight up zojirushi fan boy at this point.

There is no type of food I don't love. But Asian food is like 60% of food. There's no real way to avoid it. Plus my deployments were all from the west coast so we stopped in Asian cities.

glad to hear it! I would suggest getting some enamelled ones, because the others tend to rust if you don't take extremely good care of them. But, on the flip-side, they can also be way more expensive!

I'm not cynical on humanity and have way more faith in people than most I interact with. You are giving way too much credit here if you think that at least some of the most successful, driven, cutthroat people in the world are not going to do whatever is necessary to be the absolute best. I've worked for people who were utterly despicable human beings who had no clue and thought they were doing God's work (A whole lot of LDS businessmen are well known for treating people like trash and being clueless to the fact).

Business has no responsibility to be ethical whatsoever. Government has a responsibility to ensure that business people are ethical. A few swift, high profile cases would go a long way in preventing this stuff. Our drawn out litigation (often a decade plus) and structural corporate protections leave many unharmed by the damage they cause.

Of course-- I'm not sitting here expecting every corporation to regulate their own ethics. With that said, I still have every right to be disgusted when a company conducts affairs unethically, and allows rampant levels of chronic disease and death go on in their workplaces untreated. Actions like this must be condemned, and intense regulatory rehaul must be the response-- however, how can you implement changes when lobby groups are so powerful? Which elected president will actually give a **** about this?

Of course-- I'm not sitting here expecting every corporation to regulate their own ethics. With that said, I still have every right to be disgusted when a company conducts affairs unethically, and allows rampant levels of chronic disease and death go on in their workplaces untreated. I wholeheartedly agree with the first half. I obviously don't agree with the second half putting all the blame on a single president, or on a congress. Lobbyists are a disease of the people requiring pure democracy to cater to the stupid instead of acting like true republic representatives.

I don't have an answer for you other than a couple old James Madison and Joseph Smith quotes that are about voting for those who are both honest and wise. When we do that and stop playing the blame game then we will see results.

I use ceramic coated pots and pans. They work great and are supposedly better for you. They last longer than Teflon pans and are just as easy to clean.

Also, I feel bad for upsetting you earlier in this thread. If it makes you feel any better, and it probably doesn't, this type of corporate greed and malfeasons absolutely infuriates me as well. It's probably thee reason The Insider is my favorite film of all-time.
