Grade the Trade

-Why is this a good idea?

-The aim is to tank? right??

-Neto's to play all the minutes at PG??

-Fournier's a free agent next summer, whats the rush? he's going to lead the Jazz to the playoffs this season?

-Is Fournier not a bit redundant with Hayward and Hood??
I think you missed the part where I think Fournier is really good. You can disagree with that, but that's why we do it. So we have an even better team this year and going forward.

Ya, I think it's a possibility.

Biggest problem I see though, is they might be able to afford him. Oladipo's extention will be the year after I think. So it's hard to say.

They have the albatross contract of Channing Frye. Maybe they would ask us to take back that contract too. Maybe we have to.

There's our stretch 4/5.

What happens to the PG position though? what's the basis for including Trey in this deal if your willing to sweeten it with 1st round picks (which is a TERRIBLE idea)

How many more games would the Jazz win after this trade??? - gimme a number

Ironically, if Gordon wasn't ****ting the bed every night we wouldn't be having these conversations.

AB ain't the problem right now.

@Hack - How much better is Fournier going to be than Rodney Hood in the 2017 season? Twice as effective??

Frye costs 8 mil per year for 3 seasons, and Fournier will need a raise - so this limits flexibility, and it involves paying extra upfront, plus a PG will need to get paid to replace trey. All for what you could possibly get at just cost next offseason.. It's totally ill conceived, and panicked

This is such a ****ty idea, I'd classify it as cutting off your nose to spite your face..

bump it years from now too.. My comments in this thread will stand the test of time

Trey Burke is terrible. You can replace him easily. Bring back Cotton, or some other D leaguer.

I seriously would not miss Trey Burke one bit.

I think Fournier is better than Hood. A three wing rotation of Gordon, Fournier, and Hood would be nice to have.

The point of the trade is trade up in assets. Take a gambling on a guy it might pay off. Scared money don't make money. Nah mean?

EF looks like he is a candidate for most improved, but seems like a lot to give up for him and he didn't sign an extension so he will be a RFA.

Fournier is a guy who knows how to play. He's very fundamental. He would work great in a team concept, all while being a guy you can lean on to get a bucket.

This is the big issue. He will warrant a lot more money than Burks contract, just as Burks would if he was a RFA after this season too. That has to be taken into consideration. It puts you in the really desperate situation of matching almost anything too, kind of like OKC was put in with Kanter.

So whats the before and after?? 35 to 45 wins?? enough to go from missing to making the playoffs?
That number isn't even what's important. It's important to trade up assets if you can. Gives us another leg to stand on going into the next season and next season.

Not everything is about right now.

That's why Orlando does it. We do it because we are smarter than them and we take the risk and watch it pay off.

Look at OKC giving away Harden for the same dumb reason.

Plain and simple you just have to smarter, luckier, and bolder than the rest to get ahead. Can't be scared and conservative.

We could get Frye for free right now if we want him. Issue is his contract runs one year too long for my liking. I'd want assets back for that.

Fournier has had a decent run lately, but his PER is not what Alec's is. AB has been good. It's not like he can't shoot. If he takes more threes and shoots it at 38% (something he has done)... then he has the makings of a monster scorer. He gets to the ft line at rates that are close to superstar. He is a great finisher. Needs to work on decision making, but GH's decision making has been just as suspect thus far. Worst case he is Derozan. We are shaking up the wrong position by moving AB.

Again if Gordon would make a few shots and Booker was playing like he did last year then we are 4-0.

Ummm harden and EF are not really close... like at all. It is good to take some risks sure, but you could also be stupid as hell and end up broke and alone... go ask Nets fans what that is like.
