The AB Replacement Options

We need to show progress to hopefully retain our FA Hayward and favors... Making the playoffs is progress. If management continues to "develop" these guys who are low upside and not serviceable I wouldn't want to stick around and wait it out... I bust my *** and you don't do what you conceivably could to help? I would be much more tempted to leave personally. 10 to 15 isn't significant enough to lose progress. This draft seems to have a couple can't miss prospects a few high upside guys and then it flattens out.

Look at the mocks. There is considerable drop-off from top-10 to 15, just as there was last season. I just don't see the value in wasting assets to get some fill-in, 35-yr old veteran to help us get swept badly by the Warriors. Favors and Hayward know we're making progress. They saw what the team could do even without Exum. Look at the comments after that first GS game when they came pretty damn close to giving the W's their first loss. I think the critical time to make personnel moves is this off-season. That will show the FO is serious about winning and not continuing to pinch pennies.

I'm not saying don't consider trade options now. Upgrades over Millsap, Johnson, Booker, etc. should definitely be explored.

Aminu is on a long (albeit team-friendly) contract. $7.5M/yr thru 18-19. Maybe they want an expiring plus a second-round pick instead? Aminu for Booker + pick? Maybe a long shot, but I'd make the call.

Gary Harris has gotten better this year, and I think he can be a good bench piece. I'm not as high on Wilson Chandler as others, but he'd be nice at the right price. Sheesh, Will Barton has really stepped up this year. I think a deal with Denver can get done. They want picks, and I'm sure they'd rather not have Nelson's contract.

Where's Tyreke Evans's head these days? How connected his he to NO's uncertain future? He as one year left after this year at $11.6M

Why the **** would the Blazers do that? They just signed him to what is a very reasonable deal considering his production and they like him. For an expiring and a 2nd? Ridiculous.

I think Kevin Martin would be a great pickup. He wouldn't cost much and he adds shooting to this team. He would come off the bench too.

Kevin Martin is ideal as a "replacement" if we're talking what we'll be missing most sans-Alec. But I have to think the Wolves will want more than a token asset or two. Also, what happens when Burks comes back?

I think KJ is worth a look. Could be useful now, and a piece to keep in years to come as well.

lol. This is seriously hilariously. Millsap is NOT an NBA ready player (unless you have an awesome vet in mind who can be had for nothing. /rollseyes). He is an end of the bench guy who gets a couple of minutes a game to hurt the team. Unless the Jazz is going for some twisted fouls/minute record, KJ is at no risk of being worse RIGHT NOW, not in three years.

And how is that? He has an 11 PER shooting 21% from three currently in D league. Oh....he's averaging 4 turnovers as well. Again, in 3 years, probably the better player, but with a 10 million dollar contract doesn't make sense for the Jazz who need immediate help.

We need to show Kevin Durrant we are serious about winning a ship. That means either tanking proper or healthy to take GSW to 7 games.

Which you think is most likely? Without attracting KD there is no other free agent available to bring hope back into jazz land.

I don't agree with you on either draft... Has Winslow shown he's better than RHJ... the numbers say otherwise. It's too early to say we know what last year's draft prospects are.

It's playoffs or this season was a failure for me... The organization has said that was not their goal, but I would guess Hay and Favs see the playoffs as progress. I don't want a guy like Martin (I think he is done) I'd like to pluck a guy from another team that hasn't had an opportunity.
