The AB Replacement Options

Yeah, McDaniels is worth a look. Sending them nothing or a token asset (2nd rounder) to save them a ton of cash for someone that isn't playing seems to make sense for everyone, McDaniels included.

Would save them roughly $7 M this year plus whatever the allocation they would get for being a nontax team... Roughly $10 M in total plus opens a bit of space next year which they actually do use to chase FA usually. Plus a second rounder... For a guy that isn't in the rotation and probably should be.

Wasted thread. This team isn't contending no need to make any trades. What good does a trade do? No plausible trade will turn us into contenders.

Amazing logic here... So any move that doesn't make us a contender shouldn't be discussed? Let's just close the jazzfanz then.

Id rather McDaniels too but I get the feeling we'll see more Millsap, Johnson and they pickup a DLeaguer

What good does it do other then cause us to waste an asset?? CJ IS as good as anyone we could get out of the dleague. Seriously, what's the point of adding a short term fix for a team that isn't going to make any noise?

Which one of the guys I named were from the d league? How many second rounders can we keep each year... We only have 15 roster spots.

Guys, just give it up. The Jazz arent doing anything until the guarantee date, in which they will probably cut one of Johnson/Millsap (maybe both) and will sign some 10-day contracts before settling on a guy or 2 they like.

That's likely what happens, most would like a move but it just wont come yet- definitely cant see why Millsap is in the team, CJ fits better

Give what up? is this not a relevant conversation since we are 10 days away from the guarantee dates and will likely see a move of some sort. Should we go back to talking about how we should have gotten Reggie Jackson or about draft prospects for 2017? Would that be more relevant?

Heh. I also wanted KJ in his draft. A little troubling that he's stayed glued to Houston's bench even after all the tumult and search for good combinations. I'd definitely like to kick the tires, though, because I think he has potential to be a great perimeter defender. Insane athleticism, too.

Trading for another wing might be a good idea as long as we dont give up too much or a core player. Even if Burk comes back healty we can use another solid wing player. A rotation of Burk, Hood, Hayward and 1 more solid wing would be perfect with Jingles being the 5th.

If we are going to get another wing, I would prefer a journeyman rather than another rookie or second year player. The next step is to start adding some more experience.

Yeah someone like KJ is unrealistic, probably Stauskas too. If the Jazz goal is to make the playoffs they need someone ready for 25 minutes right now. People may throw up in their mouth about a guy like Kevin Martin, but bottom line is he helps us reach the goal of making the playoffs this year.

If marginal rotation guys are unrealistic, then there is no point in discussing anyone.

Not going after anybody is precisely the ****ing problem with this organization.

Agree... I like DL and jazz management but at some point we need to not worry about shaking the boat and adding some damn talent. Wouldn't it be smarter to take nba talent that isn't being used and develop it... Yet we prefer to scour old d league guys. I don't think it was a bad strategy for us to fill out our roster in years past but I'd rather us aim a little higher now. We can have player movement and still not skip steps ya know.
