Perhaps it was just a standard rotation, but early in the 4th after the sequence where he hits the 3(1:02), then draws the foul.. I thought Quinn might have subbed him out, knowing he was hot, to see if he'd still be zoned in when he subbed him in again in a few minutes...

I was hoping at that point, down 20, and with Trey's Career high already in hand, that they might have kept feeding him.. I think he woulda kept scoring or making good plays, he was in rhythm and feeling it.. Was starting to remind me of Lyles in HS for a minute there..

he didn't touch the ball the next possession and then was subbed out for the starters, down 20... Didn't re-enter the game til 3 minutes left in the 4th.. I say he coulda went for 20 easy if they left him in.

Smooth looking jumpshot.

Seems like he is putting more arch on his shot

He also sets his feet well. He needs to shoot more. His drives and pick and roll work have been pretty good. He also looks like a different person on defense from the guy I saw in preseason.

I think when Favors returns Lyles is 3rd big and Booker is trade bait.

Also his development in the season is great... Imagine what he can do in the offseason... he has some work to do to get stronger. Think he's a good third big next season.

Not to go all fanboy, but I'm seriously shocked about his progress on defense.

I went from very tepid on this pick to pretty excited.

The two best parts of the video for me is his 3s (range) and that fast break lay up (body control).

I also want to add that Lyles is ALWAYS under control, and yet, NEVER passive. How often do you see that in a rookie? I'm really liking this pick.

I felt about Lyles the way I did Neto. Liked him as he was now a Jazzman but didn't really know anything about him or what to expect. He started of slow and I was like...ok...he needs time. Now I am really happy with him and think he will be great.

Lyles is probably going to be a legit starter in the NBA though. Neto is a nice third, or situational, PG.

****.... I hate to be the person to ask.... but I think it's time to re-ask the question about Lyles playing minutes at SF. smh.

Nice game by Lyles. I think next season is where we see what he's made of. He needs bulk. Bulk will help on defense and if he can develop an inside game I will eat crow on not being ecstatic we drafted him.

I'd rather him develop his J and 3 point shot over an inside game.

I can't remember where I was reading that he is doing 3 shooting practices. Before, after and during shootaround. Plus doing film studies above and beyond the normal. I'm excited to see what other tricks he has up his sleeve.

He's a better fit and potential mismatch at the 4, especially with Gobert and Favors on the roster. There are easily enough minutes for all three.
