What's new

Jimmy Butler

Paul george has been a complete mess this year.

23.1 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.9 steals, a 55.7% TS%, and 86.0% from the line with 6.5 attempts per game with virtually no one around him is a mess? Okay.

Gordon bodies him in nearly every matchup between the two.

But...Hayward shoots a 1.5% higher FG% and 0.8 less turnovers per game so that makes him hands down better than Paul George. b-line and Cy will back me on this.

George is probably a better bet to wow someone, but he has been inconsistent this year. He might get back to where he was pre-injury, maybe not.

Hayward is pretty damn consistent.

Ok, Numb, I thought Chicago should have blown it up last season and given the Jazz a shot at s-n-t Butler. I don't know how that path is not more obvious now than ever.

Gasol - unrestricted, he is going to another contender (he should save his knees and retire to the recliner)
Noah - past his prime, unrestricted, going to another contender or hitting the Joakim Sofa
Rose - give up on the poor guy already. I bet Brooklyn Hammocks would take him for a dime bag.

Butler is the only thing Chicago has, but they also have (had) just enough to not rebuild. I would throw the farm of draft picks at a combination of Butler and Noah or Gasol s-n-t or even offering to take Rose's contract off their hands.

Here's a feasible contract offer:

Butler for a **** ton of draft picks

combined with a paired trade of

Booker, Pleiss, Burke, Ingles for Rose

I'd rather not pursue a guy who would so publicly call out a coach like that. Even if our coach was a lame duck, that would not fly in this organization.

Rule #1, you keep it in-house.

Ehhh. Rule #1 is do a damn good job. Rule #2 is be real about it. But keeping it in-house is simultaneously important.

But then again, he's onto something.
