Trade idea with Philadelphia

Jazz recieve: Picks 24, 26 (maybe take one pick away if Sixers say no?) in upcoming draft, Robert Covington

76ers recieve: Pick 12, Trey Burke

Jazz do it because Robert Covington is as good a backup wing as you can get, and it's rumored that Trey Burke requested a trade earlier this year after riding the bench for some random dude for the 2nd straight year.

Sixers do it because they really want a talent at 12, like Wade Baldwin or Denzel Valentine, and also get a good decent PG who may have just been suppressed by the Jazz for the past 2 years.

It's not really a sexy trade for either side, but I like Covington a lot if he were to come in as a backup, and it gets rid of burke, plus we know Lindsey uses magic fairy dust on his mid-20 picks, so whether we would get

Exum | Mack | Neto
Hood | Burks | Covington
Hayward | Covington | Ingles
Favors | Lyles
Gobert | Withey

Plus throw in whoever Lindsey drafts there (Bembry and Zizic, anyone?), and I like our 15 man rotation. Plus if we made a dream of mine come true and signed Mike Conley on a 2/40 and traded Mack or Neto, we could see

Conley | Exum | Neto
Hood | Burks | Covington
Hayward | Covington | Bembry
Favors | Lyles
Gobert | Withey | Zizic

IDK I'm rambling with my fingers. What do you guys think?

I'd do the deal but Covington might have more value than this. His contract is a huge value... A value that doesn't mean a lot to us because we already have a ton of cap space to fill.

With regards to Conley I read today that Memphis is now worried they may lose him. To me his best two options would be San Antonio and us. 2/20 is a pipe dream though... He gets offered full max from Memphis so it'd take full 4 year max to even get in the conversation. 4/97M... I still do it. Add talent and figure other things out later.

Unfortunately if we do that either Favors or Hayward is gone after next season :(

Favs is locked in for two years on the cheap. We'd have a two year run then you can move burks or let favs walk if lyles is killing it or try to move Conley if Exum is tearing it up.

I'd just rather add the talent then figure it out. Plus if Hayward walks next year anyway then we still have a good team.

If he will come here on the 4 year max you do it... My guess is he is SA bound though.

LOL so we trade a lottery pick for second round picks( really that it) and the back wing player we can find in FA? I warn you come her make disgrace from REDDITT!!!

Well said. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a Spurs jersey. Hopefully we can sweet talk him though. Also, the reception that I've gotten from 76er's fans (and also various NBA fans) so far on a different board has been pretty good. They like Valentine, Baldwin, and Korkmaz a lot.

We get rid of Burke, who nobody likes for a much, much more talented Backup wing, which is more than likely what we'd draft at 12, and get a couple mid 20's picks (no, not 2nd rounders), which Dennis Lindsey has proven to use to find hidden talent (Hood and Gobert were both late first rounders). Plus 2 picks for 1 in a draft like this, where nobody knows what the hell is happening after about the 7th pick, is pretty good. Remember how we were robbed in the Trey Burke for Deing and Muhammed, where we traded 2 picks, who ended up better players, for 1 who we were in love with? This could definitely be the same principle. I'm not really sure what you mean by the reddit comment, did you type this in google translate?

Draft is pretty flat... I like Baldwin a lot but if you tell me we can get Beasley and Zizic... It's a deep draft and getting Covington is a good deal too... I don't know that we will get a guy that fits what we need on our bench better than him.

Thee thinks getting Conley means we give up on Exum... Not really bro.. Exum can either guard spot. If Exum becomes better than Conley then you trade Conley.

What if Exum doesn't become the next Penny Hardaway and we said no thank you to a borderline All Star at a position where we don't get great play.

If you can acquire a major asset without giving up anything except cap space you do it... Exum may never be as good as Conley.
