Remembering what Exum did for the Jazz and why management stands so firmly behind him

Honestly what gives me hope about Exum was his SL game. Yeah, a SL game. Why? Cause he was going up against Marcus Smart and Terry Rozier. Smart last year was a very, very good defend. Rozier sucks, but he is at least a good defender. Dante toasted em. He got past Smart easily...something not many guys did well last year. If he can come back mentally and physically, we're going to be really good.

True. I would rather exums rookie year was more similar to bookers (17.9 ppg per 36) or kyrie (21.8 ppg and 6.4 assists per 36) even though exum may have been more effective due to his defense.

Did Booker learn good habits ? Did he learn good team defensive principles. Was he good at moving the ball ?

I was at one of the Jazz versus Suns games this year, and, to me, it looked like Booker didn't understand team defense. The games I saw on TV didn't change my mind. He's got a long way to go on that end, IMO.

Dante's low steals, blocks, DRTG, VORP, assist rate, shooting percentages, 62% from the line that he rarely gets to, inability to hit the broad side of the barn with a hand full of wheat, timidness, and lack of athleticism have me stoked for next season. I can't tell you how excited I am to watch another year of a botched rebuild based on the dumb *** sales job that Exum-Gobert-Favors are defensive stalwarts and we can ride that train to a 4th seed.

I stumbled upon Exum's pre-draft thread on RealGM and someone posted this.



Kind of eerie :/. Hopefully since the Olympics are coming up we will get some kind of update on how he is progressing since being cleared for contact.

yeah bit of a worry. I've heard he's been doing a lot of work on taking off and landing with good form to protect his knees.

Who's this Chris Mannix dude. I havent' heard even a hint of things going sloer than thought, that doesn't make much sense if he's already talking about the Olympics. December is 6 months away, that just seems far fetched

Well, in order for proper context, they should be rookies. We want similar situations, right?

Devin Booker would be a decent example. People are pretty high on him. Kyrie Irving as a rookie.

All I'm saying is that Exum was above average on defense, below average on offense as a rookie. If those two were switched, people would be more excited about his future because scoring points is sexier than stopping points (not to mention more obvious).

Star potential is smth that xplodes. I believe if his knees are ok he will show great things this season. I always saw the light there no matter how terrible his performance showed on the stats. Here is my prophecy; he is gonna be a scary 3 point shooter and passer in time.
