Major love from BR power rankings

I think the majority of Jazz fans are just as guilty of underestimating this team. Utah was about to take a big step forward before Exum's injury, and most fans have since blown off that stretch after the Kanter trade as a fluke. Nice to see so many articles from people who understand that Utah's woes last year were due to injuries, instead of assuming we just weren't as good as that stretch of bball from the season before would indicate.

Yup, Jazz got healthy and DL addressed 2-3 times over every single need this team had. He annihilated this off season.

Vets leadership - check
PG play - check
Bench depth - check
Outside shooting - check
Spacing - check
Jettison dead weight - check
Maintain long term cap flexibility - check
Maintain adequate picks the next several years - check
Maintain chemistry - check

At this point the only two somewhat legit arguments IMO are:

1. DL didn't act last year
2. That he didn't get more/act sooner for some assets/players

Both those are also very debated.

4th....wut.

nope. we're not there yet.

we chocked vs some really trash teams last season. we need to prove it.

Yep, we choked hard down the stretch of some important games.

Anyone watch game 7 of the finals between the Cavs and Dubs? How was the offense down the stretch? Choking under pressure happens, even to the best of the best. I don't think it necessarily means Utah isn't good enough to be among the best teams in the west this year.

Might be overly optimistic but outside of GSW, who's clearly the team to beat, & SAS/CLE, who are likely the only teams that have somewhat of a chance to do so, we're definitely in that next tier. Whether we're at the top of it is certainly debatable as we still have a ton to prove but it's hard not to be excited about this team's potential. Can't wait to see how it plays out.

All we need to do is hold the opposing team under 90 points, right? We do that we are golden. . .

I like our chances of anyone in the third tier, and if we're at the top of that tier, that's 4th.

I just mentioned this in another thread, but what a relief it is to not have any major holes or players that I'm embarrassed of. The Jazz are a team to be proud of right now and I think that will get reinforced this season.

Wait until we start 10-0 and see how the hype goes through the roof.

I still have the Clips, Raps and Celts in a tier above the Jazz. Utah's in the next tier with Charlotte, Atlanta, Indiana, Memphis, Portland, OKC and Dallas (Charlotte, Atlanta and OKC may belong a tier below the others).

Until the Jazz prove otherwise, you're right. I think they will prove otherwise.

You mean for projected record or overall better team? Certainly some teams in the East will finish with better records simply because the West will have two 60 win teams again (at least, Warriors might win 70 again).
