Gordon Hayward and Derrick Favors are definitely trending upwards, they have played with a high level of confidence

Rudy Gobert is trending upwards ,what a FT shooting display he put on tonight

Dante Exum and Trey Lyles are going to be hard to keep off the court,Exums speed and length are special.Lyles is going to join Gobert and Favors as a big 3 in the front court. Trending upwards.

I don't think we can say that George Hill has trended upwards at this point ,he's playing passable. But handed the PG job he hasn't shown yet he can be more of a factor than Exum.

Rodney Hood is neutral so far ,we wait to see what he's bringing in the next game.

Joe Johnson,on a team with great young talent,he's starting out slow ,really slow...trending down

Joe Ingles ,believe it or not is trending up,he's definitely playing his way into the top 10 players on Jazz roster

Shelvin Mack has trended up slightly ,he's going to get minutes on some team

Alec Burks ,Incomplete, needs to get on the court though

Boris Diaw ,you can see he can be a help to the Jazz but you can't say he has trended up yet

trending down ,Raul Neto ,Chris Johnson ...are they going to be around by the end of pre season

You made this topic to push your "Exum should start over Hill right now" nonsense that you've already made a dozen topics about.

And my response is it's preseason.

I wish I could take a literal dump inside some threads. Here's one, for example.

I love Favors - have since day 1. But Trey Lyles will probably make him expendable in the eyes of the Jazz FO by the end of next season when Favors' contract is up.

Yah! Wat is this thread about doe? You can't be the authority on who is trending up and down. Come of your high horse, k?

It's been two preseason games. The sample size is to small for everyone. Everything is affected. Like Chris Johnson, Raul Neto and Jeff Withey seeing playing time, no Burks, experimentation like having Joe Johnson at the 4.

To soon

Hmmm, maybe. Favors and Lyles are very different players. Favors is clearly better in the post, at D and rebounding.

or

since Lyles will still be on a rookie contract the Jazz will be able to have their cake and eat it too. There's 96 mins which is more than enough for Favors, Gobert, and Lyles.

Exum is converting me slowly. He'll never be a star, but he defends and because he's so passive by nature and a good passer, he lets teammates do what they do best and they know they can expect the ball. Bottom line, the defense, good passing and unselfishness will help the team win games.

Mack had some kick but plays last night. I think if Lyles an him keep playing at this level they get packaged to Houston for James Harden. There is not room on the team for another Big. Lyles has all star potential.

I'm not ready to say this, but I will say Gobert looked great with Lyles and Diaw spacing the floor, but the absence of Favers hurt us in defense and securing rebounds

I love the depth I hope Favors and Gobert's Mins go down some from last year. Could be huge come playoff time.

And late in the fourth quarter. Our players should be able to play with more energy then the opposition maybe we win more of the close games and play better defense down the stretch.

What convinces you he'll never be a star? Guys speed allows him to get anywhere he wants with the ball. If he gets stronger he will be able to finish at the rim. His elite defense plus passing and finishing ability I believe gives him the potential to be a star.

Plus his shot looks like it's improving. I always respect your analysis bit isn't it a little early to be saying he won't be a star?

Looks about right. But it's just been two preseason games so don't get carried away.

On top of that, when he's out there it always feels like the Jazz just play better even when's he's passive. Im not a stats guy so not sure it's the case in that department but the eye test it sure feels that way. Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but I really like the kid and can tell he really wants to prove himself. If he's stays healthy I see a bright future for him.

Jazz slow pace in healing Exum has really paid off ,his speed is still there plus stronger .Now if that same strategy works with Alec Burks ,Jazz will have two guys that can get in the paint with ease.
I'm getting more excited because of what I see Trey Lyles doing too and we still haven't gotten to see the improvement in Rodney Hood's game yet.
