The 800lb gorilla

Sorry PG_AB, you can't pretend you're all about the 76ers method of forever tanking for the future when all offseason you were bitching out the Jazz for not maxing Harrison Barnes.

But, but, he was the missing piece.

Criticizing the front office is one thing. Bringing up previous drafts and bitching about every instance where they failed to draft the BPA at their draft position is straight up, as you're fond of saying, asinine.

Anybody can use the power of hindsight to criticize anybody. That would be like me criticizing your parents for having a baby - obviously if they knew you would be the end result they never would've done it, but at the time they had no way of knowing.

The only "moves" you've proposed without the benefit of hindsight were maxing out Harrison Barnes and pursuing Dennis Schroder, one of which was a terrible idea and the other unrealistic.

totally not true there's a very long list of **** I've had right ahead of time. ppl around here know this but have a lot of angst about admitting it..

Dennis Schroder was projected to fall right in the Jazz lap at 15 but instead they traded up for Burke, dunno how thats unrealistic.

Genius pgab material here. Guys, we should've signed Harrison Barnes because his contract would be tradeable!

Yeah that Harrison Barnes championship experience proved really valuable when he shot under 40% in the playoffs last year despite being virtually ignored by opposing defenses.

It should've been impossible to look bad while benefiting from the spacing that Curry, Thompson, and Green provided, but somehow Barnes managed it.

The Warriors don't even make the finals without some key Harrison Barnes 3's in the OKC series.. Tell the readers of this forum I'm lying about that.

Barnes has already set a new career high 31 points with the new team. He's averaging 18.5 ppg early in the season, tell me, are those flukes?

Yeah, Barnes' 20 points in the last three games combined (6.66 points per game) were what propelled the Dubs to the Finals. Rofl. You're a ****ing clown.

As far as this season goes, I mean, I know when I analyze whether something is a fluke or not, I typically use a sample size of five games. So yeah 18.5 per. Awesome. But as far as that production goes, yeah, someone's gotta score on the Mavs. I mean, don't get me wrong, he's a stud having led them to an 0-5 record and all. But I'm having some doubts.

young players capable of 20ppg, shooting it from 3 well and playing defense and rebounding well are very tradeable in their mid 20's even on big deals.
Like Tobias Harris who I wanted the previous offseason..

Where am I doubting you bro? You're a genius. I love the forward thinking.

He has scored over 20 points exactly one time this season (against houston's historically awful defense), and he's "capable of 20 ppg" now?

Last year he shot only 13 threes all last season with a defender closer than four feet of him, which is insane. And he still couldn't crack 40% from 3 despite virtually all of them being wide open (he shot 2/13 on the contested 3s). Hmm

I clicked on this link expecting it to be a thread about Boris Diaw .....

and all i see is rubbish about Harrison "Mr hit an open shot" Barnes .. blah

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the Warriors are going to win this year and it's "we'll get em next year" for everyone else.

So seeing that the Jazz are going after and paying for vets such as Joe Johnson and Boris Diaw rubs me the wrong way, I question the timing, it seems forced and unnatural... The Jazz at one point last year were the youngest team in the league and now the avg age has balooned up to like 26.. I can't help but think shouldn't they still be in full talent cultivation mode? Harrison Barnes would've fit right into that because at 24 and demanding a larger role he's still got plenty of room for improvement.

Those besmirching Barnes will look foolish in the coming years. Who cares what the Mavs record is they've got a peice that was cultivated for them.. and will hope to add another serious one in the draft. They just won championship and so did Barnes.
