What's new

Official Game Thread: Kill the Hornets, 5pm MT

We played really well and just lost steam in the 4th. We missed tons of three's. Their crowd got into it. A slightly better shooting % from three and this game would have been a barn-burner. They are a damn good team and this loss wasn't that bad. With Hill it would have probably been a win.

All true, but you have to ask yourself, do you want to be a team that makes excuses? Or do you want to be a team that improves. Not every night is going to be our night, I get that, but that should not prevent us from looking at our mistakes and trying to improve on them. The problems that Quin had tonight are not new and he needs to improve.

Hayward played like a mensch, Dante showed the most aggression he ever has, Hood looks like a seasoned veteran, Rudy was awesome for the first half and Favors was nailing his shots. Both teams shot 46.3% FG, we out rebounded them and we were close in 3 pt.%(8 threes each). We just couldn't stop Kemba, JJ didn't play well, and Rudy only played 30 min. All in all a damn good game, we just lost.
We stopped Kemba most of the game

Hayward with 29 tonight, 10/19 FG, 7 REB, 4 AST, 1 BLK, 4 TO

He looks like he could go for 30 nearly every night.

Mack and Neto are fairly comparable... different but comparable.

I would prefer Mack most of the time, but I think Quin's overuse of Mack is an issue.

And as far as Quin losing this game for us, he has to at least get partial credit. Our 3 point shooting absolutely sucked, but this game was very winnable, and Quin made some questionable/bad decisions in this game.

I'd give him a grade of about D+ for this game.

We didn't shoot well... they did... sometimes it happens.

I will say this. If Hayward was officiated the same way walker was tonight he shoots 20 free throws. One thing I love about Hayward is rather than flopping when he gets contact he does the get the **** off me move and scores plus the foul.

Hayward has gotten raped his whole career. I don't get it.

We played them tough in their house without our starting PG. They are hot. No need for any excuses tonight.

We did a good job... he got to the line on some pretty weak calls and then we had to play with kids gloves on.

I truly hate how the game is officiated. There is not really a good solution but players are routinely awarded for non-basketball moves... both of those three pointer fouls tonight were the stop short rip through type and the stopping in front of the defender always has annoyed me, but Hayward shouldn't have fallen for that one.

My only issue is when Mack is sharing the floor with Hayward and Hood he should take fewer shots. And he's just not a very sure handed ball handler.

Neto is a better spot up guy and knows his role. He hustles but is generally an overrated defender by most.

I wish Quin would lose his **** every now and again Kerr style. It matters and he should go to bat for his guys.

Wish Hill would have played in this one. We did well on the boards but they took care of the ball. Close but no cigar.
