What if Hayward doesn't re-sign?

I gave the Hill solution above. He fits perfectly at Cavs. We get Love and picks

Holy hell have the morans come out of hibernation early. Cleveland has no picks. Like none. Unless we're counting 2nd rounders which mean jack **** in this deal. And even if they did have 1st, I don't care for trading two starters for one who is an average defender at best and the 29th pick. Which they won't even have for years.

And Love has his own injury issues. But more than anything it makes no sense for Cleveland. They are better with Love.

What in the **** is NYK getting for Melo in your fantasy trade?

Favors represents a player who has been injured for the entire year when they are trying to win the Championship. Not someone they would want.

Stahp! Listen to LoPo. Love is not the key for the Cavs even though he was their clear 3rd option when they won it all last year and is better this year. Clearly, Melo and is his winning tradition is the key for them.

The trade would likely be Hayward for Brooklyn pick, Amir Johnson and Jerekbo.

Only makes sense if Hayward might leave. None of it does unless we think he might leave

Major LOL @ Cy during this whole thread. Ball is going to be a superstar. 20 and 10 player. We'd be foolish not to deal Hayward for Crowder and the Brooklyn pick or even Brown and the Brooklyn pick. I can't wait to bump this one in a few years.

We're the 4 seed in the brutal west despite being young and injury-plagued as **** this year.

Yep, time to break it up.

And you are losing about 40 ppg between Hayward/Hill and our two best playmakers. How much of that hole can Hood and a rookie Ball really fill? How good is Crowder when he isnt with an All-Star PG in a 5-out offense? The West is too good, we would become a worse team than the Pelicans. I dont think we would make the playoff for the next two years, then in the 3rd/4th year of Ball we might start challenging for low seed fodder.

We would be starting Dante Exum and our best scorer would be Rodney Hood. I somehow doubt that makes the playoffs.
In this scenario the jazz are unable to spend money on free agents?

Cleveland fared better in many games last postseason with Tristan and LBJ in. Love was option 4 last postseason.

My reach of an idea is Cavs replacing Love with Hill and Melo. They take that.

Major lulz at Ball playing here too. His dad would pull an Archie Manning so fast it would make Lindsey's head spin.

I dont know how good or bad Ball will be. With that said he is going to hurt his team more than help in his first year or two. People over rate rookies. They almost never help you win their first year and rarely do their second year. This is even more true of PGs. It could be 4-5 years before Ball helps the team really start winning. I am not saying it isnt worth the risk but the rookie aint helping us win and it will hurt us to give him playing time which is needed to develop him. Although if Hill leaves I think Exum can start next year. Although I think it would be better for Exum to start in 2 years.

No, we are able to freely explore teh FA market like we are every single year since the inception of the Utah Jazz. How has that FA market success been in signing great players?
Who said great? Im thinking good.

No dude, every rookie is a super-star waiting to happen.

Though I do feel that way about Fultz, but Ball's hype train is eerily reminiscent to D.Russell's and he isnt exactly lighting the league up.
