"Elsewhere, the Phoenix Suns have expressed interest in talking to the Jazz about Derrick Favors, Utah's starting power forward, sources say.

Even through he has been dealing with a nagging knee injury throughout the season, Favors is still considered important to the success of the team, so it is less likely that the Jazz part ways with him. Still, Utah has been willing to listen when it comes to Favors, who is on a team-friendly contract through the end of next season."

A healthy Favors is a great fit in PHX, he can help them transition to the point where the young PF's they just drafted mature.. He's also not a bad fit next to Len or Tyson Chandler.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were trying to unload Chandler tbh.

Yes please.

That deal doesn't even make it thru the trade machine. The salaries don't line up for NO, they'd need PHX or Utah to also take one of Dante Cunningham or Quincy Pondexter (both signed thru next season) in return.

Obviously that PHX unprotected pick would be in 2020 or later... The 2017 pick has more value than all the other pieces of the deal combined...

It'd be more like Jared Dudley and Dragan Bender or Jared Dudley and Chriss... something along those lines. Maybe a 2018 first the worse of theirs or the Heat's.

"Utah is all-in to keep Gordon Hayward, but they also need to shed some salary before their army of young players ink pricey new deals. They’ve tested the market for Derrick Favors over the last few weeks, according to several league sources; Favors hasn’t been quite the same since coming back from injury, and Utah plays Favors and Rudy Gobert together for only 10 or 12 minutes per game."

We would definitely be selling low, but eh. Who knows if he'll ever be himself again. A stretch 4 would be nice.

Absolutely no way its Chriss... I highly doubt Bender's involved either.

I can't see any way Chriss would be involved, but if the suns think they could get the real Favors next year, I could see them trading Bender as he and Chriss play the same position. Bender would be great next to Gobert in a few years.

Suns offered Knight, Len, Warren, and multiple picks for Cousins. I'm guessing it would be a mix of any two of those players for Favors. I would mind snagging Warren from them.

At first I thought the Suns have assets and there surely are trades that would make sense...But the more I look, the pickier I get.

I would do Favors for Chriss and a 1st Round draft pick swap option in 2018 or 2019. We get a low cost salary player and a draft pick. They get a veteran and stud on a great contract. I don't want Knight, Chandler, or Dudley on those albatross contracts. 3 - 4 years left on each of them and none of them are that cheap for the quality they bring.

I wouldn't hang up the phone on Favors for Bender, but our defense drops off too much with Favors out so I would want something significant in return to go that route vs. Chriss. Say... 2018 draft pick top 5 protected. I don't think that we trade Favors without taking back a PF. Bender doesn't inspire confidence yet, but he is a good contract for 4 years which gives us flexibility. A healthy Favors though.... Chriss is a no brainer IMHO. Bender is alright... Chandler is a 4 year contract! No th'nks...
