Playoff Game 5: Jazz at Clippers 4/25/17 8:30 ROOT, TNT

Is it weird that I was never worried about this game? Probably irrationally confident. Game 6 will be all about dispiriting the Clips in Q1. Get them nervous. Take away their hope. This series is NOT over, the Clips could come out firing with their backs against the wall.

In Game 6 the Jazz need to start fast and then stomp on the Clips throat requiring the arena janitorial staff to pick them up with a teaspoon and a sponge.

I think the Clippers are going to fold up at some point in the 6th game ,worn out by having to play the full 24 second clock and watching the Jazz sink baskets before the 24 second buzzer runs out.
Warriors haven't faced a healthy Jazz team yet and I suspect Warriors know if their shots aren't falling they'll be in one hell of a war with the Jazz because the rebounds will be tough to come by against the Jazz. This Jazz team won't be scared ,this I'm sure of.

Stop looking at the NBA like a competition. It is an entertainment business. It exists to make money by selling entertainment. So, the advertisers who paid for the late night slot want a close game going down the stretch, not a 15 pt blow out with 5 minutes left.

But don't fall off the conspiracy cliff, the league doesn't script everything. Its like a reality TV show, where there is no script but the producers shape and create situations to maximize the drama or highlight a specific storyline in their "reality" show.

Personally, I choose to enjoy it for what it is, and when the producers hand seems to heavy, I turn it off.

I've never seen such ridiculous **** in the NBA. That was a ****ing farce.

But our dudes battled the ******** and won. ****ing studs, every one of them.

I for one am pumped to face the Warriors. It is the next lessen that the Jazz need to learn. How to go from great to elite. How to play championship level ball. If the Jazz were to get past GS they have a legit chance to win the title straight up.

Also last night was huge for Hayward IMO. Hayward, Gobert, Favors, Ingles, Hood and Neto are getting massive experience this series. I believe that this being the dog fight it has been is far better for the Jazz's long term growth than a cake walk would be. Growth under pressure. For that I thank the Clips.

#TakeNote

Maybe it couldn't be scripted better. Character-building game for sure.

After Joe Johnson's dagger.

I just noticed: He has two belly buttons!

Oh well, just another immigrant in California -- but from which planet?

Neither was I. When Rudy got hurt in game 1 and we yet we still won, and then when we won without Hayward I realized with everyone playing for the Jazz the odds of the Clippers winning was slim to none. They got close, but only because the refs screwed us and we missed a whole lot of shots. I expected Joe Johnson to be clutch yet again because he did it twice before. It was still amazing to watch, but expected.

With Crawford playing like garbage all the Clips have, shooting-wise is Paul and Redick. They lack shooting and we don't (despite some majorly streaky moments by the Jazz).

Did you see his little temper tantrum at the very end of the game when he lost the ball? Funny as ****!!!

Just watched that. The ref flinched as Christina acted like he was going to throw the ball at him, then Chrissy bitched at the ref that he tried to call time out. Can a technical be called when the game is over?

did anyone notice joe ingles was scoreless!

0-4 from 3

4 assist 3 rebounds 1 block. statistically a horrible game for a starter playing 29 minutes.

but the eye test showed he had much more of an impact than that!

hopefully Friday we get more production from him(in points).

i think doc rivers adjusted to jingling joe

Indeed. Luckily, Diaw offset Joe's lack of points with his ten, and Ingles did other valuable things.

First time poster.

My friends and I left today to go to Disneyland.. we were making great time and decided to get tickets to the amazing game that was tonight. First of all the clippers fans (with a few exceptions) were terrible fans. The stadium only got loud on those back to back cp3 threes. The jazz fans in the stadium out cheered them at times!! Second, what a gritty hell of a win for this young group. Hayward played like a top 10 player in the league tonight. And Rudy was insanely good on the defensive end mostly by getting his hands on pretty much everything. And last I have to tell this amazing experience. After we pulled the victory out we started to walk down the stairs and we saw other jazz fans in the stairwell and for about 8 straight minutes a group of about 15 of us screamed and yelled with excitement. It was incredible. All in all I'm sorry for the long post but I love the Jazz and I love Jazznation!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to JazzFanz and way to represent!!!

Lucky, to be there in person, witnessing a classic Jazz game. Very cool.

This raises an interesting point if we advance to the 2nd round. Sure the Warriors have a bunch of bandwagon fans built up over the past 3 or so seasons, but their arena will be a ton more hostile and volatile to us than The Staples Center. That'll be a new experience for the Jazz.

For sure. Although I have a hard time seeing us win more than 1 if we make it to that series, the Jazz style is the perfect counter to the Warriors feeding off the crowd.

Yeah. Should we get to R2 I'm hoping for a win or two. Kinda frustrated about the W's superteam. Almost takes the fun out of it entirely.
