ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida officials are investigating an unemployment agency that spent public money to give 6,000 superhero capes to the jobless.

Workforce Central Florida spent more than $14,000 on the red capes as part of its "Cape-A-Bility Challenge" public relations campaign. The campaign featured a cartoon character, "Dr. Evil Unemployment," who needs to be vanquished.

I love how they handed out capes in lieu of a job.

Here is their Dr Evil Unemployment:

Sounds to me like a whole lot of gubmint employees had nothing to do. To keep themselves out of the no-job category, and to keep their budget fully-spent to justify next-years budget increase, they did a little make-work ad campaign.

But I bet no employers wanted any idiots in red capes in their workplace. . . . .

When I was unemployed I never got a cape. ********.

Go buy a large beach towel and pin it around your neck you cheap *******!

Why should I do that when the government will give it to me for free? Did Goldman Sachs get some profits of their own to tie around their neck? No.

It's Florida! There's a reason the state has had its own Fark tag for years.

But, since this is Millsapa I know this is somehow emblematic of the idea that all government is bad. So let's point out a few things:

1. This happened during Charlie Crist's tenure as governor of Florida. Charlie Crist is, of course, a conservative. The only possible argument for him being not conservative comes on the basis that Marco Rubio was more conservative. But there's a reason that Crist was elected as the GOP candidate for governor.

2. The Florida Senate is overwhelmingly Republican.

3. So is the Florida House of Representatives.

4. Conservatives have been in control of Florida's Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability for over a decade.

Given all this, are you sure this is the right battle to pick on liberal governance issues?

This state was Jeb Bush domain for a while. Looks like he did the same sort of "conservative" Georgieboy and Georgiedad did.

In case you didn't get the memo, that's why there's a bunch of conservatives wanting to replace the Republican management as well as the other big suspender neat-O s who have bankrupted us.

Hilarious!

You do it too much. Heifsapa has never had an original thought... She just "bolds" certain words and adds an animated .gif. A hack of epic proportions.

I bolded the things that were particularly funny, and I was debating between the gif and this cape picture...you know because of the handing out capes thing.:
