In Game 3, the refs are going to call all the stuff on the Warriors they didn't call games 1 and 2. They will probably call more than they should. For example, Zaza and Draymond constantly moving on screens, contact on LBJ going to the rim, etc. will be called when it wasn't so far. To the casual fan, it's going to look like the Cavs will be "given" the chance to win by the refs. This is why I spent so much time last night pointing stuff out. I'm not usually that guy. However, I played that role last night because this series, and playoffs in particular, is bad for the product of the NBA. People want parody. They want close games. They want to be entertained. For those liking this GS dominance, the novelty of it won't last. If you know your team has no chance, why buy season tickets? Why sponsor a team?
If the refs would simply call stuff consistently throughout all games, there would be less to debate. Home town calls are fine. A little here and there is fine. But when Zaza pushes Tristan Thompson 15 feet so Curry can get an open look or when Klay completely runs over Love in the lane getting an and 1 or when LBJ is hacked over and over going to the hole, just call it. It leaves less for speculation. I want to be entertained and last night would have been much closer down the stretch had the game been called more evenly throughout. The separation at the end of the 3rd would have happened at the end of the 4th. Warriors would still have won, but the league would have more "integrity" in the eyes of those who know better.
We can all see for ourselves what happens Wednesday. Hopefully I'm wrong and they just call it even.
