I see it as one in the same as tunnel vision. I used that phrase in one of my posts. His agenda may not be numbers, but he does commit to other things regardless of whether or not it is the right play. You can tell when he wants nothing to do with the ball and wants to hide in the corner. You can also tell when he wants to make a play and dribbles the entire shot clock away. He decides what he wants to do be fore he does it, and that is what gets him in trouble.
Semantics aside, we're talking about the same thing. It's the reason why he does absolutely nothing some games and tries to do way too much other times. The game doesn't come to him naturally and he can't make decisions on the fly.
That can only come with time, but he's going to need to improve his game if he wants to stay on the floor. It's very hard to give minutes to a PG who can't dribble and can't punish a defense for completely ignoring it. It's not a hard standard to uphold. He needs to take responsibility for his own development and get better. The minutes will be there if he does improve.
Personally, I love the approach that FO is taking. They are challenging Dante to get better instead of entitling him to minutes.
