I was surprised that we drafted two guards and both in the 6'3" range. I even heard Mitchell referred to as 6'2". I know he's got an impressive wingspan and hops but we can't possibly be thinking in terms of using him solely as a shooting guard at that height could we? Then there's NWG which had a pretty impressive run on the college team with the best season record. So what does that mean as far as our pursuit of Hill resigning? And how about minutes for Exum or the immediate future of Mack or Neto in the organization? So why all the point/combo guards to the exclusion of other areas of concern.
I like the picks talentwise, and particularly see the utility of Bradley which I suspect will beat out Withey who I've always said was too soft to hit anybody but his girlfriend. But didn't anybody besides myself think we might draft at least one forward? I mean we've currently got Hayward and Ingles and old man Joe Johnson at small forward and Hayward may already be packing his bags. Is there another free agent out there to replace him if we do lose him? I mean Butler is off the board so that would be a stinger now I imagine. Then there's the departure of Lyles where I think Joe Johnson is a better fit to spell Favors at the power forward position than Hayward at the small forward position. Does all this mean that the organization envisions an expanded role for Joel Bolomboy?
So anybody else surprised, chagrined or excited about this draft selection haul? What do you make of it?
