What's new

Ricky Rubio

Who the hell is breaking down the defense? Hayward isnt Harden, he needs a PG who can create at least a respectable amount.

Didn't realize Hill was that much more of a playmaker than Beverly... I mean how did we get any open shots this year with our lack of creation?

Agree. If Hayward returns, it's likely because Lindsey has agreed to do everything possible (within reasonable financial limits) to bring back Hayward's buddies, Hill and Ingles. Beverley may only be a consideration IF Hayward leaves. Then Hill probably doesn't want to return and the Jazz certainly wouldn't want to be tax payers.

Hayward leaves: Beverley, Teo and a FA (Gallinari?) are probably in the mix. Jingles at the right price is probably brought back

Hayward stays: Hill and Jingles brought back if possible. Teo is questionable (where would he get minutes)?

He was. The guy got to the line 4 times a game.

Bev gets one in a wide open fast paced super offense

I think he can do more. Hill also missed a **** ton of games and we still patched it together. Of the trade options considering price and other things he's the best fit imo.

If Hayward is out Id let go of Hill and Ingles. Ingles won't be around when we are ready to compete again and won't be able to handle his new role with Hayward gone. He'd just be a constant reminder also. Ingles out.

Turn it over to the kids.

He's right tho. Hill is a far better fit because of his catching and shooting. Rubio needs the ball in his hand and is a poor shooter. He's my least favorite option out of the ones being discussed. I'd rather have Beverly.

No ****. I clearly said I'd rather have Hill. All he mentioned is catch and shoot stats which was very odd to me.

Bevs defense is > Teos offense
Bevs offense is > teos defense
Bev>Teo

The guy sucked badly at shooting for his entire career. Then, during a 35-game span, finally shot at an acceptable rate and you want to pretend that is a sure thing that he is going to be decent again. Okay!

I said it was a small sample size. Nowhere did I act like it was a sure thing he would go and put up those numbers. I'm just pointing out additional facts.

Okay!!!

As much as a 30 year old PG playing in Russia is.

Basically this... go ahead and insert Ricky and Bledsoe too. We just need an established pg to show the need has been addressed imo...

But Exum can't shoot yet and isn't nearly the defender Beverly is...
Exums shot post all star was decent and it was good in the playoffs for limited minutes. I also think his defense was stellar late in the season now that he is recovered from the ACL injury it will be solid, better than pre injury. It takes a solid year playing to get back from ACL surgery and that is what we were starting to see.

I'm not into taking limited sample sizes and saying a player can do something. Beverly is a better shooter.

I'm excited that Exum is putting in work.

Hill's and Exum's per 36 stats in February (11 games).

Exum shot 52.6% from the field and 88.9% from the free-throw line.

It isn't just shooting. It's also not commiting the big mistakes too.

If we are fine with Hayward leaving then let's keep Exum as our starter.

I'm not sure anyone is fine with Hayward leaving. I know I'm sure as hell not fine with it. If he does though I would love to roll out Exum/Mitchell/Hood at PG/SG/SF.
