Pros:
-Unique player
-Fun to watch because of creativity with handle and passing ability
-Adds new element of defense the Jazz lack with disruptive ability to play passing lanes
-Should influence the Jazz to play with a faster pace
-Decent enough FT rate despite lack of scoring ability (and an upper tier FT shooter)
-Respectable pull-up game from midrange
-Perfect age with rest of core
Cons:
-Can't finish around the rim
-Poor spot-up shooter
-Injury history
That's good news. Burks gonna ball out
has played just 70 or more games three times in his six NBA seasons due to injuries.
In the vacuum of getting Rubio for a 1st round non-lottery pick I think it's a great deal.
Ricky Rubio playing on the slowest paced team who starts two traditional big men, that just doesnt sound good.
I think signing Hill made for the best Jazz team. I think if the Jazz had a richer owner, or were in a bigger market where they were less concerned about money, they would have paid for Hill and Ingles.
Unless there are other moves in the works, the Jazz will be fielding an inferior team next year (and that's assuming Hayward stays). Rubio is a nice player, but he's a poor fit who will seriously hurt spacing. Oh, and Hill is as good as gone. I'm sad.
Either way, welcome aboard Ricky Rubio.
