Free agency rumors updates

So lets take a look at our cap situation:

Rudy Gobert ($21,224,719)
Derrick Favors ($12,000,000)
Alec Burks ($10,845,506)
Joe Johnson ($10,505,000)
Dante Exum ($4,992,385)
Rodney Hood ($2,386,864)
Joel Bolomboy ($1,312,611)
Donovan Mitchell ($1,835,200)
Ricky Rubio ($14,100,000)

Total: $79,202,285

Cap Holds:
Joe Inlges ($4,085,000)
Gordon Hayward ($24,109,710)

Total with cap holds:
$107,396,995

Non Guaranteed:
Boris Diaw ($7,500,000)1
Raul Neto ($1,471,382)
Total: $8,971,382

Am I missing anything? I think that is what we are looking at if want to be at our lowest that is assuming we let those non guaranteed go. We probably keep Neto but if we need the room this is where we can be right?

So that is 8.4m over the cap. If we could somehow dump Favors and Burks that is almost 23M which would put us at 14 million in cap space. Could we get anyone for that much decent? Could we clear more room if we need to? How about clearing JJ to get us 24m in space. Could that net us anyone worth out time to strip our depth a bit? I dont see anyway to get room for a Max contract.

Hmm my guess is we dont really have cap space in free agency to make much happen besides MLE whch is 8 million. But we still have picks, Hood, Favors, Burks, Diaw(maybe our best asset) to make a decent trade. I guess we have Exum and Mitchell but only if its a big name since the FO seems to be very excited about both.

I am still unsure of the sign and trade rules so I am not sure about that option for FAs. But we could sign and trade JJ, Favors and Burks which is 33 million, that could net us someone like Griffin if sign and trades work when you are over the cap.

The number 28 pick is something just under $1,000,000.

I'm hyped up your alleyway but gutting the bench for one more mid-level piece doesn't sit well with me. The Jazz are building a great regular season team with their deep bench but it would take a whole lot to transform that into a deep playoff team - a team with nearly no bench.

Hype, HYPE, HYPE!!!

The division will be tough but idc as long as Hayward stays. And I don't see him leaving now ;)

FYI everyone clamoring about how tight lipped the Jazz are and we never get a heads up so dont believe trade rumors, those days are over.

It was leaked the Jazz were trying to move up in the draft and then they did.

It was leaked the Jazz were very interested in Rubio like a week ago and then it happened.

There were no leaks about PG to OKC or CP3 to Houston.

Also NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

to us not getting PG13.

I never thought we were actually going to do it, Jazz dont take risks like that but it would have been fun. I still think the Jazz have one more trade in them in the next few days though, but if not I am excited about this team going forward. Much more excited if Hayward returns but excited either way.

Blake back to Clips for 5/$173

Exact contract Hayward could sign here.

Hopefully he set the precedent a bit.
Is this confirmed? Can we even know this before free agency begins?

Bill Oram: Expect Clippers to now turn attention to Danilo Gallinari and Andre Iguodala. Hard to see MLE getting it done, but can always clear space. – via Twitter billoram

I guess they like Beverly to start and now need a really solid SF, that they have never had with this team. That could be a decent lineup and still a playoff team.

Yeah, I don't think the PG-13 news makes Hayward re-signing here as much of a lock as you all predict. If anything, it might lower Boston in his priority list and raise Miami a bit, but I'm not sure the overall math of his consideration has changed. And remember, 'basketball reasons' are just one of the fronts of his decision making.

Clearly, it's a good thing that PG-13 didn't wind up in Boston. It isn't a great thing that the West just added another versatile forward that will be competing both for playoff positioning and an All Star berth.

If Hayward stays though, the race between San Antonio, Houston, the Jazz, and OKC for the 2-5 seeds is going to be NUTS and so much fun to watch.

Why/how can they do that?
Can we sign hayward, hill, and ingles right now?

Its not technically official but teams and players all get around the rules and have come to terms already.

And yes we have communicated a lot with our players and have an idea what they are doing. Hayward wants to have official visits first. It sounds like Jazz are letting Ingles set his price and we will match(which I dont like)

He hasn't signed yet. Not until the 7th actually. But he's committed to them. And unless you lock a dude in his house all night then those commitments are always honored.

Sound logic, however this makes Boston's leverage much weaker in signing Hayward. I hate you Boston hope your team crumbles.
