Hayward signing outright (reported rumor)

Fwiw it seems like Hayward has still not signed. At least it hasn't been reported if he has. So I'm still hopeful that they are working out something like this.
Interesting that they used their MLE (assumption) to sign Baynes, but have yet to officially ink Hayward. There is a good reason for waiting, but obviously we don't know what it is. Time will tell. I do not in any way have my hopes up for a tpe. I could see Ainge playing hardball til the last second before he takes what he can get in the end. I'm going to plan on him just messing with DL, since it seems to be his MO to screwge.

Yet Dennis Lindseys team last year was just as good as any team the Jazz have had since Stockton/Malone, even with some of the worst injury luck in the NBA.
But his "franchise changing" pick was outside the lottery, so it doesn't count.
And it was entirely DL's fault Hayward walked. Nevermind the unnatural love Gordon expressed for his college coach. Gordon was gone the moment Stevens became an NBA head coach. Stevens could have signed ANYWHERE and that's where Gordon would have gone.

Hayward cannot sign with Boston until all physicals from the Avery Bradley trade are completed, which I believe will be Monday or Tuesday. So I wouldn't read much into any delay.

You don't seem to like the organization or the players. So what is it you like? The word "Jazz"?

What players do I not like? Hood is all. And I've never said I don't like him.

I just don't lick his ball sweat like the lot of you.

He's an average NBA player.

You're comparing KOC's ~13-14 year stint with us to Lindsey's 4 (he's really only been in charge for 3). There were plenty of things that KOC did that were good moves that I think he didn't get appreciated for. Boozer and Memo was a good summer. I think the most under appreciated move was trading for Fisher, despite how it ended. Giricek for Korver was great despite Sloan's inability to maximize that. Despite this, I wasn't much a fan of his management style and there were plenty of blunders. The combination of him and Greg was awful and came to a head with Jerry quitting. I'm absolutely baffled how anyone could not see how much better off we currently are with DL at the helm. Props to KOC for bringing him in -- another solid move.

Tl;dr you're comparing KOCs >decade run with Lindsey's three years and your references are "no franchise changing lottery picks" (I suppose you conveniently can't count Gobert since he wasn't lottery -- then dismiss Hood), and no big trades.

It may be interesting to pull some of your old quotes about KOC because, just like the Hayward 25 ppg thing, I'm assuming your memory on your KOC opinions is a little fuzzy.

Fair point on longevity.

As far as my opinion on KOC. I defended him big time here. I did have criticisms when he let Greg have too much control (waiting too long to tank, not firing Corbin and hiring Horney).

p.s. If your best attack on my "memory" is me saying Hayward could score 23 a night and I remembered 25...lol. I'll take that.

I just got back from 5 years in the future.

I've always said Hood was a primary scorer. It doesn't change that Lindsey has whiffed on all his even-numbered draft picks on years that the draft fell on a Thursday and it was overcast in Wendover. [Up-and-coming draftee] is not an NBA player, was a terrible selection and has a loooong way to go if you think he can replace what Hood brings every night.

And the contexts surrounding those numbers were entirely different.
