Igor Kokoskov Appreciation Thread

The Utah Jazz' assistant coach Kokoskov is doing wonders as the Slovenian NT's head coach.

They just pounded Spain and reached the Eurobasket finals to everyone's surprise. He's getting the best out of his players who are playing their hearts out on the court.
He's also helping 18-eyar old sensation Luka Doncic shine in the tournament, who posted almost trible-double yesterday with 0 turnovers.

Kokoskov has been working as an assistant coach for a number of NBA teams since early 2000s. He also worked with Quin Snyder at the University of Missouri.

Now, Kokoskov is Serbian and he will be coaching Slovenia vs his homeland in finals. Will he have any conflict of interests? Will he become public enemy in basketball crazy Serbia if he leads Slovenia to victory?

Straight up, Kokoškov is a better coach than at least one of the dudes in the last NBA finals. Slovenia went 9-0 combined.

Slovenia beat France by 17 in the group stages, Ukraine by 24 in the round of 16, Spain by 20 in the semis, and Serbia by 8 in the final.

I don't know what the Jazz can offer Kokoškov, but at this point, I'd offer anything. I'd promise him the head coach position if the team finishes under .500 at any point in the next 5 years.

Kokoskov has the biggest balls ever! Took Dragic out with 3:50 to go and tied game because he was exhausted and making mistakes and didn't get him back in. WOW!

#TakeNote. Kokoskov is a legit head coaching candidate.
When Quin added him to his staff, I was wondering what he was doing. Now we know. He's put himself in line for a significant offer from either an NBA or Euro team. Jazz will have him for another season, then he'll leave with our blessing. Personally, I hope he goes to a Euro team so he can create goodwill for the Jazz and recommend some hidden talent for DL to sign or draft.
