drunks are so limber/loose they seem to live charmed lives in driving accidents. It's the people they run off the road, rolling their vehicles usually, who die, if they aren't all killed head-on.

I have to pay attention when someone is drifting, falling asleep, or swerving in my line of progress. If I get sleepy, I should just pull over and sleep. There are some nice spots overlooking the Truckee river.

They sold it mere days ahead of 9/11. Some MGM insiders dumped a lot of stock in the week running up to the massacre. The shooter was a high-roller, meaning the hotel comped his room. He paid a $100,000 marker the day of the shooting... pretty clear he expected to walk away after his ammo was spent, maybe down a service elevator. A lot of people who've lugged guns and ammo boxes a bit question how he got all that stuff up to his room. You do know the hotels have cams on every door, even the service entries I suppose. The guy making perhaps twenty trips with golf bags or clearly heavy luggage should have been noticed....

The 88k also accounts for deaths due to drunk driving. They did not break that out in the statistic. It also did not account for people injured while using alcohol or injuring others, which is not insignificant.

Yeah alcohol stats are all ********, if you've been at a BBQ and tripped over the garden hose and end up in hospital cause you've had three cans its an alcohol related injury, or you're walking home from the pub and you get mugged, these stats are meaningless. They mostly just record that people drink and **** happens.

Drink driving is a different story there cause and effect are much easier to demonstrate, working nights from Thursday onward i normally drive with a fair bit of caution seen too many drunks run red lights.

a nuke can not be used in self defense by an idnividualk. if you kick down my door to rob me and i detonate a nuke. i will murder innocent people. i will justifiably kill you! but a nuke is not worthy in a self defense situation!

We should definitely ban drunk driving.

We should also ban speeding.

We should also ban texting and driving since "Texting while driving is 6x more likely to cause an accident than driving drunk."

How about just ban alcohol and require all cars to have a device that blocks cell service while the car is in motion. The point is we have other things that are non-necessary that are equally or more dangerous than guns. But they are more socially acceptable so everyone just kind of brushes over the damage done because damnit I want to get drunk sometimes.

I don't think cars or alcohol were created for the soles purpose of killing however.

I don't see guns and alcohol/cars/knives/etc as apples to apples.

If you use alcohol or a car properly and for its intended purpose then people don't die.

If you use a gun properly and for its intended purpose then something dies.
