What's new

Jazz @ Clippers October 24th, 8:30 PM Mountain Time

Either you're looking at that chart wrong or I am. To me it looks like the graphic shows that he's currently the 2nd worst rookie offensively, and middle of the pack defensively.

Bwhaha He's definitely wrong and Cappy calls me stupid. Dude can't read worth ****. Fact.
According to that chart, Mitchell's D is below average too. I wonder what metrics were used.

Btw, I haven't seen one player in NBA history start the season 4 games in, with 40 shots minimum, shoot worse than Mitchell (if you find one, please link) Dude has only one way to go now - up.

I agree, it shows he is the second worst offensively and in the middle of the pack defensively. But 3 games is way too small of a sample size to draw any conclusions from.

At least Blake Griffin's dunk over Rudy Gobert has replaced Baron Davis' dunk over Andrei Kirilenko. Can't wait to see that 50 more times this season.

But also, Rudy will have his revenge. Dude is far too competitive. Right? I mean, he's gotta get his mojo somehow.

That was such BS. Gobert didn't even challenge Blake. He never left his feet and even turns away and doubles over. Bunch of people were talking about how he posterized Gobert. Whatever, weak sauce. Let Gobert truly challenge and let's see what happens.

Gobert took an elbow to the face on it.

He was late on the rotation. He had no chance at blocking it. If he would have gone up, it would have just been an And-1.

By those exact specifications? The only one I could find is Shawn Bradley. Mudiay is pretty close. But there have been lots of players to get off to bad shooting starts. Hood for example. Also Korver and John Paxson had a rough start as a shooters as well.

Interestingly Mitchell has 13 assists through 4 games which is the same number as Harden and Dwill. I guess we can assume he will through dimes like those 2. Dwill and Harden even got more minutes in that time period.

I am not worried about Mitchell. I like his confidence and his willingness to take on the load. Last night when he had that little flurry I think we are seeing the hints of what he can become. He is currently playing like a rookie. Wow imagine that.

Yes he was and my point still stands. Gobert didn't challenge that shot.

Clips did just have a funny tweet about it though. They have a video of Griffin hanging from the rim with Gobert under him turned away and the video says "Game. Blouses." Then a bunch of pancake emojis lol

Did they have a clip of Jordan's weak hook shot being returned to sender ??

All Dante could do in his 2 years of playing was try to catch slower players off guard to get to the rim, then avoid contact with an off-foot layups. i'm not trying to say he was bad, but he just didn't have any kind of offensive arsenal and he isnt nearly as confident as Donovan.

Mitchell has scoring moves he has already shown. He isn't avoiding contact at the rim (he just doesnt know how to draw whistles yet). He can score on all 3 levels. He is a threat to pull-up off the dribble. His repertoire is so much more skilled and diverse than Dante's which is why he has a longer leash. Quin knows this dude can get buckets.

slight exaggeration but mostly agree, particularly his first year. Mitchell has come into the league just so much more skilled. I think this year Dante would have had a lot more free reign, i think he would have gotten free throws at a rate that would have surprised a lot of people.

I think they're both going to be terrific contributors for the Jazz.

WE might have the best defense in the league this year.

Having said that, we might have one of the worst offenses in the league this year.

We desperately need a shooter. We'd be a championship contender with Klay Thompson, Booker, or Bradley Beal.

Yes. All the Jazz need is one shooter to become a champion.

You know Jazz fans it is ok to say DM sucked in the first half and still marvel at his little run and be excited about him. I know it is four games and DM is being asked to play PG but I found myself yelling for Quinn to take him out when he was 1-10. Always defending players even when they play bad makes Jazz fans look like homers. Every player has bad games doesn't mean they suck.

I think DM should be moved back to the bench once Hood comes back and he can be the man on the second unit. He needs to sit next to the coach and get some in game coaching. P.S. I thought Neto played pretty solid for the minutes he played. I am still excited about DM, just feel his leash needs to be shortened when he is 1-10.

You know its ok to watch a guy grow and develop yeh?

Ever consider your expectations are the problem?

You do know that EVERY player is slower than Dante right?
The leash is longer cause this team has more holes and no Hayward. Oh, and Mitchell knows he's not a pg. Dante knows he is - despite Quin and Locke arguing he is not.
