What's new

Mitchell needs to start

Against mostly second units. He's also not a target that the defense takes seriously. We'll see if he can sustain his impact, but even then, we've yet to see him play against scouting. I promise you if Gobert was playing in the 2nd unit and was being ignored he'd be absolutely ****ing feasting.

All that being said, I'm a huge fan of Udoh. I just think saying that he needs some of Gobert's minutes is incredibly premature and almost borders on offensive.

We wouldn't be so high on Udoh if he played against KAT, Jokic, and DeAndre most nights.

Mitchell plays best at SG right now. I dont think putting him at PG helps the team. Ingles cant play PF and it would hurt his game. He would go from being a good defender to a bad defender.

Mitchell might become a good PG but thats not his position now and maybe not in the future either.

If he plays well enough to start I would put Ingles on the bench and move Hood to SF. But right now we dont need that. Just make sure he gets his minutes and let him keep playing against guys he can dominate for awhile. He is still young.

Say what you want about him in gd threads but his posts about the Jazz are usually positive and good the last couple years. No reason to bag on him for posting about the Jazz in a reasonable way.

they have been for years. except the last years of sloan, and harpring and all of crobains years with his vet power. sloan and harpring soured me a bit

But why does DM need to start? His trajectory looks fine so far. He seems to be a high character guy who won't self destruct if he's not given the keys to the Ferrari each night.

maybe if he starts he gets roy.

to lazy to google it, but not a lot of bench rookies won the ROY

DM can dictate the whole game. The others can't.

LOL Somebodies had way too much DM koolaid. I like the kid and hope he can continue to grow and improve, but right now he's not better than the others and he takes some horrible shots and plays out of control far too often. I'd be shocked if he started this season with a healthy roster available. I can see him becoming that guy, but right now your just as likely to see bone headed plays as you are good plays and that is not what you want from a starter.

What mistakes did he make in the last game? What mistakes did Rubio make?

And we're supposed to ignore the other games where his play has been between net neutral at best and simply atrocious at worst? No one is saying to bench and trade him, but your position (Mitchell doesn't make mistakes/we should base our opinions off of one game) is equally preposterous in the other direction.

This thread cracks me up. 3 days ago everyone was ready to give up on Mitchell and call him a bust. Now he's the best player ever cause his shot finally started falling. Get it together guys! :)

Also, I've said all along, Mitchell has played well this entire season regardless of his point totals. There is more than one way to be effective and his calling card is looking like passing and defensive ability.
